CalNorth & USSF Licensing Clinics
We offer the following CalNorth/USSF courses in Roseville at no cost to our coaches (the same courses are also held in other locations; see bottom of page for details):

CalNorth F Clinic: Course is focused on teaching technical aspects of soccer, training, goal-setting, motivation, teaching methods and communication to recreational coaches. 1.5 hour classroom session plus 5.5 hour field session. Mandatory for all recreational coaches. Prerequisite: none. No testing.

CalNorth GK Clinic: Course is focused on coaching goalkeepers: ready position, diving, footwork, shot-stopping and training. 1.0 hour classroom session plus 5 hour field session. Optional for all coaches. Prerequisite: none. No testing.
USSF E Clinic: Course follows USSF curriculum covering long term athlete development, creation of training sessions, recognition of principals of attacking and defending, small-sided games. 6 hour classroom sessions plus 12 hours of on-field training (Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday). Pre-class homework is assigned; pass/fail grading on course. Optional for recreational coaches; mandatory for competitive coaches. This course prepares attendees for completion of the USSF D Course. Prerequisite: Successful completion of F Clinic.
CalNorth Youth Module I: Designed for coaches of U6 and U8 players. Covers team administration, soccer injuries, philosophy of coaching, characteristics of U6 and U8 players, risk management, age appropriate training. 1 hour lecture, 3 hours field session. No testing or homework.
CalNorth Youth Module II: Designed for coaches of U10 to U12 players. Covers team administration, soccer injuries, philosophy of coaching, characteristics of U10 and U12 players, risk management, age appropriate training. 1 hour lecture, 3 hours field session. No testing or homework.
Roseville’s Laws of the Game for Coaches. Course designed for recreational coaches who did not play the game, or for those who simply want a refresher on the Laws of the Game. All 17 laws are discussed, and how they are adapt to youth soccer.

Clinics Held in Other Areas. The above-referenced clinics are held all over Northern California between May and August. Roseville coaches can also attend clinics hosted by Rocklin, Lincoln, Loomis or Eureka at no charge. For clinics hosted by any other club, you will have to advance the course fee. Upon completion of the course, you can seek reimbursement from PYSL by emailing a copy of a receipt and the course license to firstname.lastname@example.org
