What is Silent Saturday?
Silent Saturday is when only players, not parents, or coaches can talk during a match.Well
intentioned side lines that are loud and have multiple instructions
from parents and coaches often distracts players from focusing on play.
No cheering, whistles, or other verbal noises are allowed.
What is the Spirit of Silent Saturday?
- Silent Saturdays allows young players to make decisions and learn the game. This is a big step forward in player development.
- It encourages players to communicate with each other.
-Parents, family members, and friends get to enjoy watching their loved ones play
- Young or new referees are more able to concentrate on the match, which builds their confidence and allows for better play.
But I'm an excited Parent, Grandparent, Family member, or friend, what can I do?
Clap for your player and enjoy watching your loved one play.
What can Coaches do?
can notify the referee for substitutions during the match. At
halftime, the Coach can encourage players to have a"team meeting" and
what they can do to improve.
