YAKIMA JR. PIRATES FOOTBALL & CHEER

 The Yakima Jr Pirates Football Program is proud to serve youth athletes and families in the Yakima community. As we head into the 2026 fall season, we’re excited to continue building a program rooted in development, discipline, and pride. We are more than just football—we are a community.

Our mission is to provide a safe, structured, and positive environment where young athletes can grow both on and off the field. Through football, we strive to: Build strong character, leadership, and teamwork Teach discipline, accountability, and sportsmanship Promote confidence, respect, and a strong work ethic Create opportunities for all youth, regardless of background We are committed to developing not just athletes—but future leaders in our community.

Yakima Jr Pirates proudly operates within the Yakima School District boundaries, focusing on providing opportunities for local youth to participate in organized football and cheer. We are especially dedicated to serving families in our community by keeping our program accessible and inclusive. 

Our program competes in the Central Basin Youth Football League (CBYF), a respected league that brings together teams from across the region. The league provides: Organized and competitive gameplay Certified rules and safety standards Opportunities for athletes to grow and compete at higher levels A structured schedule including regular season and postseason play. Participation in this league ensures our athletes receive a quality football experience while representing Yakima with pride.



Football Programs

2026 Fall Football Programs 

We offer multiple divisions to ensure proper development at every level: 

Flag Football (K–1st Grade): A fun and safe introduction to the game, focusing on fundamentals and teamwork.

Rookie Tackle (2nd–3rd Grade): A developmental level that introduces contact in a structured and supportive environment.

Tackle Football (4th–8th Grade): Competitive play with a strong emphasis on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.

2026 Cheer Program (K-8th Grade)

Our Jr Pirates Cheer Program is open to athletes in Kindergarten through 8th grade and is designed to build confidence, teamwork, and school spirit in a fun and supportive environment. 

We welcome all skill levels—from beginners to experienced cheerleaders. Our program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of cheer, including motions, chants, jumps, basic stunts, and sideline routines. As athletes grow, they will continue to develop their skills while learning the importance of leadership, discipline, and teamwork. 

Cheerleaders will have the opportunity to: 

Perform at Jr Pirates football games 

Learn age-appropriate cheer techniques and routines 

Build friendships and be part of a positive team environment 

Develop confidence both on and off the field 


Our goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where every athlete feels valued and motivated to grow. We take pride in promoting sportsmanship, community involvement, and Pirate pride throughout the season.
