We understand that the parents of youth athletes passionate and dedicated to their children in taking on additional experiences and challenges. We also understand that this takes an exceptional amount of dedication and personal sacrifice. The East Valley Jr Red Devils youth football team has high expectations of the athletes, fans, parents, community partners, and coaches associated with the program. With that being said, there is a list of rules/expatiations specifically for the parents of athletes in the program.

1: Have a positive attitude towards all players and the program. Be your kid’s biggest cheerleader. Don’t curse or swear at players. Refs or coaches, or anyone else involved throughout the season. Observe a 24-hour rule if you are upset with a coach, before approaching the coach, allow yourself time to cool down and think through the issue. Understand that football does not come first in any of our players lives, we are developing good young men before we develop any football players.

2: Set goals and expectations from your kids. Each player is expected to participate in all drills and give maximum effort when participating. If a player does not fully participate, there is no minimum play rule and that player may not get game time if practices are missed.

3: Always keep players safe. Football is a violent and intense game. Players will get dinged up or injured throughout the season. Make sure to give them proper time to recover if they are hurt or injured. Don’t rush a player back.

4: Address concerns of players and parents with your team. There may be issues that come up with players and parents accusing others of picking on or bullying them, make sure to address these issues with the coaches of your team. If you’re not able to solve the issue, bring it to the attention of the Head Coach of the program.

5: Be aware of your equipment. This includes your players gear and their needs for practices and games. Try to keep all the equipment together and in good working order to ensure safe play.

6: Understand the three team expectations. There are three team expectations for any player in the East Valley Jr Red Devil program, those are:

• Have fun. Making sure that the practices and games are always engaging with our athletes

• Get Better. Our players need to be improving each day in their football skills.

• Work Hard. Our players need to be involved in making sure that they are doing their best to achieve their team and individual goals.

If any of these expectations are not met or agreed upon, you may be asked to not participate or leave the program. Remember, this program is not about you or your own personal achievements. This program is for the kids to develop them as both young student athletes and good young men in the future.
