ADULT LEAGUE INFORAMTION

The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.) is proud to present our 2020 Adult Volleyball League Program. The Sunset Adult School gymnasium will be the location of all league play. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY to insure your team meets the terms and deadlines for participating in the league.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Entry Fee: $480.00 Per Team
(Make checks payable to H.A.R.D.)
League Fees cover a 8 or 10 match league plus post season playoffs
(depending on the number of team entries)

Entry fees include officiating costs, facility use, league administration,
equipment use/replacement and awards.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN BY THE DEADLINE?
To be considered for a league, all teams MUST submit a completed Team Sign-Up
Form and the entire League Entry Fee, designated above, on or prior to the
specified deadlines. Teams should indicate a first, second and third choice of "League"
on the Team Sign-Up Form whenever possible. Final team rosters will be due on league roster freeze date. Team entry fees may be submitted in cash, cashiers check,
money order, personal or company check, or by credit card.
Please note that all of the above items must be received before your team is considered for a league. Partial Payments for League Fees will not be accepted. Returning teams that miss deadlines will lose their priority for league slots and may not receive a slot in the
league(s) they desire or a slot at all (depending on demand).
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A LEAGUE ONLINE?
In order to register for a league, all Managers must have an ACTIVE Net account with the District. Most returning Managers, even if never accessed, likely already have an account setup. If you have ever registered for classes with H.A.R.D. you can use the same account you already have established. In order to sign into your account visit:

Your username is your email address. If you have never logged in before use the “Forgot Password” link in order to set one up. If you are a brand-new manager to the league you will have to sign up for a new account. For assistance with ACTIVE Net accounts and access please contact our District Office Customer Service at (510) 881-6700.
Make sure that your account is active and accessible prior to registration day for easy access.
You will be registering for your selected League choice based on the Activity numbers listed above in the “What League is Available to My Team” section above. If your team played in the Prior League Season you will have a 3 Day Priority Registration Period (for Summer & Fall ONLY) in order to claim your Returning Team Status for the next League. After that priority registration period is over registration will open for all other teams. Managers should follow the online registration process and make payment online using a credit card. The entry fees may be submitted in cash, cashier’s check, money order, personal or company check, or credit card. However, some of these forms of payment can only be accepted in person at the District Office. Please note that managers wishing to do in person registration must wait for available staff to assist them and it can impact the availability of spots left in the league due to online registration.
NEW PROCESS: Once your team registration fees have been paid Managers will receive an automated email from teamsideline TITLED. Team Manager Welcome | Hayward Area Recreation & Park District Sports. To begin the process of putting your roster together via your account on teamsideline. Please Note this is A NEW process. That will serve as your prompt that you may begin the Roster process. Team Rosters must have player’s first and last names and will require that all players electronically sign the Player Waiver and Player Code of Conduct (a valid email address will be needed to complete this process). NO sharing of email address, each player will need there own.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS THE DEADLINE?
Teams not making the deadline will be placed behind all teams that do and be registered on a first come first served basis until all spots are filled. Avoid waiting until the very last day if at all possible. DO NOT MISS THE DEADLINE
& jeopardize your chances of playing in the league.
WHAT LEAGUE CAN I SIGN UP FOR?
You may sign up for night in your prior seasons classification. First priority will be
given to teams that played on that night in the prior season. H.A.R.D. reserves the
right to move teams up or down in classification when necessary to maintain the
overall balance of the leagues. Final league make-up and gym assignments will
be determined after the registration deadline. Teams will not be moved from
their first request without notification of options. The league reserves the right
to combine leagues in order to fill a classification. Teams that refuse to move
when combining leagues will lose their priority for the following season.
WHAT IS THE TEAM RATING NIGHT?
Team rating nights are used for placement of new teams and returning teams with roster changes of more than 50% of previous league's roster or changes that incorporate ranked players of higher classifications. If needed, league rating nights will be held the week prior to the start of league play. Teams will be notified of rating night and times.

When a team breaks up and returns the following season seeking a priority placement, priority shall be based on:
*Teams Business Sponsor always carries priority
*Roster with highest residency point (see priority #2 criteria)
HOW DO I KNOW WHETHER OR NOT MY TEAM GOT IN?
Teams will be notified in a timely manner either by phone, mail or
e-mail of acceptance. Call (510) 317-2314 if deadline has passed
and your team is still interested in playing.
WHAT DO WE WIN IF WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS?
All leagues will receive 1st and 2nd place individual awards.
