New Player Welcome Information
Welcome to Sun City West Softball Club! As an introduction to our softball club, perspective
players are invited to visit Liberty Field. To become a member, you must be a
resident of Sun City West and have a valid recreation card.
If you decide to become a part of Sun City West Softball Club, please follow these steps:
1. New player registration
2. Signed waiver form
Once these steps are completed, a notification will be emailed to Mike Raynor, Green Team
Coordinator, and Judy Peltekian, Assistant. Since we do not know how long you have played
previously, we invite you to Green Team workouts in order to place you in the proper league. Green Team committee members will run you through a series of drills, getting you back into
your comfort zone. They will work with you on throwing, fielding, hitting, and explain the rules
of our club. It is here where we assess your abilities to put you in the proper league that will
enhance your experience with Sun City West Softball.
After a new player receives their official league rating, they enter into the appropriate league.
Once assigned a league, you will be required to pay an initial fee of $150. This initial fee is
comprised of a $100 one-time charge for uniform, hat, pants, shorts, and an annual dues fee of
$50. If you join our league after September 1st of any year, your dues have already been paid
for the remainder of the year and the next year. All leagues have a draft in October and
January. Summer ball is also available as scheduled.
Slow pitch softball bats are required to have USA, ASA, or ISA identification logo located on the bat in order to play at Liberty Field. Please check with the Green Team Coordinator if you
have any questions.
