Adult Soccer Bulletin & League Information

  • League Information Pre-Season Spring Registration begins, February 27, 2024 for all teams. 
  • Summer Registration begins, April 23, 2024 for all teams. 
  • Fall Registration begins, June 18, 2024 for all teams. Click here to register ·        
  • Pre-Season Spring – 4 weeks including one round of play-offs games. ·        
  • Summer and Fall - 9 weeks including tournament games (7 games total guaranteed, does not include forfeits) 
  • Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. 
  •  Waiting List: If the league is full you can add your team to the waiting list or choose another league. 
  • Rulebooks will be posted online. Following IFAB Rules (International Football Association Board) w/ MPRB modifications. Sponsor Checks: Sponsor checks will be accepted at MPRB Headquarters in place of online registration.  Please note; we are unable to hold a spot without payment. To hold a spot, teams will need to register for a league using a credit card.  
  • A refund will be issued once the sponsor check is received.

Rosters  

  • A 6x6 team may register a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 15 players.
  • An 11 x11 team may register a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 20 players. 
  • Playing of non-registered or ineligible players is an automatic forfeiture if protested (in writing) by opponents within forty-eight hours of league competition.
  • All rosters are due by the teams first scheduled game on Team Sideline.   

Free Agents

  • Individuals looking to get placed on a team can register as a Free Agent.  
  • Free Agent information will be passed along to teams needing players or if enough individuals register an attempt will be made to organize a team from the Free Agent list.  
  • Free Agent Fee: $10 non-refundable listing fee. 

Duties of Team Manager

  • Make sure your team brings a good game ball to every game.
  • Managers are liaisons between the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and their teams.
  • Managers are required to be available via phone / email on all game days or provide the MPRB league director contact information of someone who will be available.
  • The office MUST be informed of any change of manager during the season.
  • Managers are responsible for the following: 
  • Online registration & payment
  • Notify and contact league director(s) of any game forfeits by 4:00pm on game day.
  • Team coaching
  • Equipment
  • Conduct of players
  • Distribution of schedules
  • Eligibility of their players
  • Initiating and writing protest
  • Reading rules and regulations governing our athletic leagues.
  • Rosters to be completed by the first scheduled game. 
  •  Uniform - Teams must have a light and a dark jersey. 
  •  Conduct - Sportsmanlike conduct is expected of all players, coaches, and managers. The referee has the power to expel any offender.
  • Managers only are allowed to address the referee regarding calls, score or to request time-out unless the referee has encouraged questions, during the first few weeks of play, for instructional purposes.
  • No players (including captains) may make profane or vulgar remarks to officials, opponents or spectators.
  • Assaults and indignities to players or officials will result in automatic suspension from participating in Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board athletic leagues. 
  • All game ejections will result in a one game suspension, which can carry over from regular season to playoffs and from playoffs to next season.

The league director retains the right to make suspensions longer or remove players from the league at any time

 Forfeits 

  • If for any reason, a team fails to have the required number of players on the field by 10-minutes after the scheduled game time the game will is forfeited. 
  • If during play a team becomes incomplete due to disqualification or expulsion of a player, and substitutions cannot be made, the team loses the game by default. 
  • Teams that forfeit 2 or more games during the regular season may be excluded from the season ending tournament. 

Alcohol & Tobacco 

  • Consumption of any alcoholic beverage on MPRB property is prohibited. Persons caught are subject to citation. The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board Tobacco Use Policy prohibits smoking or use of tobacco within any Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board owned or leased building and within 100 feet of the entrance to the building. 

Parking 

  •  All Minneapolis Park and Recreation or City of Minneapolis pay lots, meters and/or any other parking fees are the sole responsibility of the user. Being a participant in an MPRB athletic league does not guarantee free parking.  The MPRB athletic department is providing the service of athletic league play only.  

 MPRB Leagues 

  •  MPRB Open Leagues: ALL genders welcomed! Sport’s leagues without gender restrictions for play and field/court position.   
  • MPRB Men’s, Co-Ed & Women’s Leagues: Players must select one of two options (female/male) to meet current league rules and requirements.   
  • MPRB 35+ Leagues: Our 35 and older league is for those players who wish to keep playing with teams of the same ability. For this reason, as the team manager please make sure that your players are at least 35 years of age. Women players may be under the age of 35 but must be 30 years of age and not have played college soccer. This is a recreational league - please select only players who fit that description.
