Given there is adequate time to communicate a weather impact in advance, the hotline will include the date and time of cancellation at the beginning of the message.
Adequate time is approximately:
- 2 hours before 1st game which is 4:30pm for Adult Sports
- 1 hour before 1stt practice which is 3:00pm for youth leagues
- 8:00am for Saturday morning youth sports game
- This is determined based on drive time, number of participants involved, school hours, staff and contacted officials to contact.
There are times that we will be able to update the weather line earlier as well as occasions where we cancel on-site due to forecasts and quick, unforeseen weather changes.
