Youth Football - Fall 2026

This is TACKLE football. We will be playing in the AYSA (Appalachian Youth Sports Association) this season. Please note that some away games will require travel, but drive time should not exceed 1.5 hours.

All equipment, except cleats, will be provided to ensure your child can play safely.

Our program focuses on learning, development, and building unity—helping each player grow while becoming part of a strong, supportive team. We do more than play—we lead.

All coaches are vetted by our Football Commissioner, Ridge Laney, and are required to complete concussion protocol training as well as pass a background check.

By registering, you are committing to the full season. Expenses for equipment, league participation/fees, and operations are paid in advance and cannot be recovered.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • When does the season begin?: We will begin workouts in June, with mandatory practice beginning in July.
  • When is the first games?: The first game will be the Jamboree on August 1st. The first sanctioned game will be August 15th.
  • Is there a Superbowl?: Yes! The Superbowl/Championship game will be held October 24th at Mars Hill University.
  • What does my child need?: All supplies needed to play are provided by the league. Your child will need cleats, and a backup mouthpiece provided by you.
  • Are all games local?: No, all games are not local. We are in the AYSA (Appalachian Youth Sports Association) league making some game away up to 1.5hr.
  • Is there a weight limit to run the ball?: No, there will be no weigh-ins.
  • Can my child play up or down a division?: Your child may play up with your permission. No child may play down a division due to any reason, it is decided by the AYSA and birthday cut-off.
  • Can I volunteer?: ABSOLUTLY! We love to have parents involved, it keeps our organization running. We need coaches, asst. coaches, parents/family to run gate/concessions for the game before or theirs, clean up crew for after games, or a team mom/dad/grandparent to cover snack schedule.
  • Are girls allowed to play?: Always!
  • Will my child need a birth certificate?: Yes, we will need a certified birth certificate to hold for the season. You get this back after the last game of the season and upon returning all equipment.
  • Does my child have to attend TJ?: No, we are not affiliated with Thomas Jefferson. However, we are fortunate enough to be granted the use of their facilities and majority of our kids are TJ kids. We accept ALL children from ANY district or school.
