Seahawks Cheer Registration 2025 - Fall 2025

Welcome to South Walton Seahawks Cheerleading!


South Walton is a member of the regional PYFA that spans from Santa Rosa Beach to Washington counties. Throughout the season we will cheer for 8-10 games within the region. Our team of coaches are eager to introduce a variety of traditional skills that will give each cheerleader the foundation they need. Cheerleaders can expect to learn fun performances, sideline dances and chants, stunts, tumbling, how to maximize crowd engagement, and more! 


Cheer Off Competition: In an effort to introduce the Boomer group to the sport of cheerleading, we are opting to not have the squad compete in the PYFA Cheer Off.  The Boomer program will continue to include the same level of gameday fun paired with a performance at our Seahawk’s Show Night prior to sending the older squads off to competition!  While we are so excited to have our PeeWee, Junior, and Senior squads compete in the end of season PYFA cheer off, our goal is to teach foundational sideline cheer.  Our competition expectations are still high in order to ensure that the girls are prepared to execute a safe, level-appropriate routine.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • When are practices open to begin?: Practices may start as early as 7/21/2025 per PYFA guidelines.
  • When and where are games played?: The season will have 8-10 games that are played on Saturdays. The PYFA will release the schedule as soon as it is finalized. Our home field is at Helen McCall but there are away games throughout the season.
  • Are there additional costs?: Cheerleaders are responsible for their own cheer shoes and white socks.
  • What does my registration fee include?: Cheer registration fees include, game-day cheer uniform and pom-poms.
  • Who is our governing organization?: The South Walton Youth Seahawks plays under the PYFA (Panhandle Youth Football Association) Umbrella. Information on the PYFA can be found at www.thepyfa.org.
  • What if I want to volunteer as a coach?: Please select the volunteer drop down option and choose coach, or email pyfasouthwalton@gmail.com and put “I’m interested in coaching” as the subject line.
  • When is competition?: Competition is usually the last Sunday of October.
  • How many games can my daughter miss?: Your daughter must attend 6 out of the 8 regular season games. She cannot miss more than 2 games to stay eligible to participate in the Cheer Off.
  • What if my daughter also cheers Allstar?: We welcome any and all cheerleading! As long as your daughter can attend her Seahawks practices and games, she may participate. Attendance rules for missing Seahawks practices due to Allstar activities will ultimately be up to your daughter's Seahawks coach.
