TEAMS Rising Stars Volleyball League (Feb. 24-Apr.7) - Spring 2025

THIS IS FOR TEAMS ONLY!!!

Monday Evenings-Feb. 24th -Apr. 7th (1 hr. segments from 5pm-9pm) 

No games will take place during the week of AISD spring break. 

Girls/Boys-Age Groups: 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14

This is a bring your team League. Your team must provide a coach. There will be a 30 minute, coach-led, practice built in to each game night. This will be a shared practice with another team on the same court. 

Limited team spots are available for each age group, so be sure to register your team early to secure a spot.

You must turn in a completed roster that will then allow your team members to register online. Each team member will receive an email explaining how to register online once you have completed the roster portion of registration.  

Cost: $100 per player

Volleyball Spring Break Camp (Mar. 10-11) - Spring 2025

VOLLEYBALL SPRING BREAK CAMP

March 10th-11th 

Age Groups:  Grades 4-6, 9am-11am/Grades 7-8, 12-2pm

Cost: $80 per player

Our volleyball spring break camp is intended to cover every skill of the game of volleyball for your young athlete. This camp is for beginners as well as for those that have been playing for several years. Here is what will be included:

Serving: Footwork, armswing mechanics, building confidence, working on core power, jump serving for advanced players.

Hitting: Introduction to approaches and transitions, armswing mechanics, jumping for height and power.

Passing/Defense: Proper technique and footwork, controlling where the pass goes, and moving quickly to the ball. 

Setting: Introduction to setting techniques and proper hand contact on the ball. 

Games: We will be playing small mini-games each day to utilized the skills that have been presented. This can be serving games, short-court games, wave-through and rotation games. 

AYSA PAYMENT POLICY:

All payments must be completed before the first day of camp. For those who have not paid by the first day of camp, a $10 late fee will be added. (This includes any walk-up registrations on the first day of camp. 

Advanced Hitting/Serving HS Camp (Mar. 12-13) - Spring 2025

9th-12th Grade (Limited to the first 20 athletes to register)

Cost: $80 per player

If your athlete is an advanced player who is looking for extra skill specific training in the area of hitting and serving then this is the camp for them! Emphasis will be placed on the following skill specific elements:

Hitting:

• Proper approach footwork mechanics that will lead to consistency and momentum building.
• Focus on proper power jumping techniques to get players to their most efficient vertical heights. 
• Transitioning from passer to attacker in a fluid motion while building momentum. 
• Learning how to hit with power by properly engaging the core. 
• Higher level hitting techniques and plays: running quicks, slides, shoots, tipping and roll shot training. 

Serving:

• Serving to score mentality.
• Building up more power and velocity in the serve.  
• Placement of the serve into specific zones on the court. 
• Higher Level Serving: Working on consistency with jump serves as well as short ball serving. 

For all AYSA camps, emphasis will be placed on repetition, technique, maximum efficient mobility, and proper mechanics.

FOUR the Family 4v4 Volleyball Tournament (April 30th)) - Spring 2025

FOUR the Family 4v4 Volleyball Tournament

DATE: Wednesday, April 30th | 5:30PM

If you are looking to bust out your old knee pads and show the kids that you still got it, then this is the tournament for you!! Form a team with your family or friends and join us for a fun-filled evening!! 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Each team will play 2-3, 10-minute pool play games followed by a single elimination playoff bracket. All teams will advance to the playoffs where games will be played to one match of 25.  

DIVISIONS: Middle School (6-8th Grade) and High School (9-12th Grade)

ROSTER: 1-2 adults and 2-3 students per team. There must be at least 1 adult on the court at all times.

COST: $60/team for a team of 4, any additional player is $15. Additional players can pay the day of the tournament.

Parent's Night Out (June 20th) - Summer 2025

Parent's Night Out 

If you need a date night or time to yourself, then be sure to join us for Parent's Night Out! Playing games, watching a movie, and eating pizza are just a few of the fun activities kids get to experience during this event. 

Date: Friday, June 20th

Time: 6:00-10:00PM

Cost: $35 per child if registered by June 18th. 

 $40 per child if registered after June 18th. 

Age Group: Children ages 5-12 

Drop-Off: 5:30-6:00PM

Pick-Up: 9:30-10:00PM, however parents may pick up their child(ren) at any time throughout the event.

This is our developmental program that introduces the game of volleyball to children. Within this program, players will begin to learn the basic skills of the game while also building character and leadership skills. Parents must be fully dedicated and actively involved in this program with their child.  Age appropriate games and activities will be utilized to allow for a fun environment in which the fundamental skills of the sport are presented.  Parents are expected to be involved and engaged in every training session at the facility as well as the home training portion which involves both physical and skill-based activities.  (If a parent can’t be present then it can be any adult figure in their life.)

Late Night League (July 8th-31st) - Summer 2025

Tuesday's and Thursday's from 7:00-11:00 p.m. July 8th to July 31st, 2025

12-18 years old 

The Late Night Basketball Program will be held at Dodge Jones Youth Sports Center. It is FREE, but registration is required; Register quickly (first come, first served) to ensure your spot is secured. Prior to games starting each night, the Abilene Youth Sports Authority will host an educational talk to benefit the players; and players must be present for each speaker in order to participate. 

You will be placed on a team and you will learn to adapt and compete from playing with new people. The last night of this league will end in a tournament style play.

DINKin' at the Dodge Parent + Child League (July 7th-28th) - Summer 2025

Join our first Parent+Child pickleball league and come DINK at the Dodge!! This 4-week session will be on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:00pm. Teams must consist of a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian and one student (Grades 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-8th). 

Limited paddles available, please bring your own if you have one.

DINKin' at the Dodge HS League (July 9th-30th) - Summer 2025

Join our first High School pickleball league and come DINK at the Dodge!! This 4-week session will be on Wednesday evenings starting at 5:30pm. Each team will play a minimum of 2 games a week and end the league with a single elimination tournament on July 30th. 

Limited paddles available, please bring your own if you have one.

Jon Smith Memorial Showcase (July 18-19) - Summer 2025

The Jon Smith Memorial Showcase is for high school volleyball teams.

July 18-19, 2025, Dodge Jones Youth Sports Center, Abilene, TX

Our goal is to provide you with a full schedule of quality matches during the weekend, giving all participants the opportunity to improve as players, teammates, and young women of character. We will guarantee plenty of chances for all athletes to get ample time out on the floor.

Pool Play games will take place on Friday. All bracket play will be on Saturday. 

Team Entry:

We offer two different divisions for the Jon Smith Showcase. 

Varsity Division--$550 per team

JV/Freshman Division--$400 per team (this division has a few less matches than the varsity division)

$200 deposit deadline July 5th to hold team spots.

ELEVATE Basketball Camp (July 23rd-24th) - Summer 2025

AYSA VolleyKids League (Aug. 25-Oct. 13) - Fall 2025

Monday Evenings--Aug.25th-Oct.13th (1 hr. segments from 5:30pm-8:30pm)

Boys and Girls--Age Groups 6-8, 9-10,11-12      Cost: $100 per player

This is a progressive, practice/play league. The first part of every evening will allow time for a team practice followed by 2 timed games. This progressive approach allows for young players to build their fundamental skills of passing, setting, attacking, serving, and defense, while also learning strategies of the game through league play. Players will register as individuals and will be placed on teams by AYSA staff. Each players will be given a team shirt.

Schedule information will be emailed to participants two weeks before league play begins. Volunteer coaches are needed for this league. Please contact Sabrina at sbingham@abileneysa.org if you are interested in coaching your child's team.

Basketball Firm Foundations (Oct 7th- Oct 23rd) - Fall 2025

This basketball academy is to set your child up to be a successful player. 

This is a fast paced skills academy that meets 2x a week on TUESDAY and THURSDAY from 5:30-6:30pm.

We will help teach your child the fundamentals of basketball as well as how to progress those basic skills into game like situations. 

We do offer walk-up registrations for our camps! However, please note:

• A $10 late fee will be added for all walk-up registrations.

To avoid the additional fee and secure your spot, we encourage early registration!

DINKin' at the Dodge (October 8th-30th) - Fall 2025

Join our adult pickleball league and come DINK at the Dodge!! This 4-week session will be open doubles, teams are placed into divisions based on age and skill level. Teams can be women, men, or mixed. Each team will play a minimum of 2 games a week, BUT if you want to play more games a week, then you can register for multiple offerings. The season will end with a single elimination tournament on the last day of the league.

Limited paddles available, please bring your own if you have one.

If you need a date night or time to yourself, then be sure to join us for Parent's Night Out! Playing games, watching a movie, and eating pizza are just a few of the fun activities kids get to experience during this event.

Time: 6:00-10:00PM

Cost: $35 per child if registered by October 15th 

 $40 per child if registered after October 15th 

Age Group: Children ages 5-12 

Drop-Off: 5:30-6:00PM

Pick-Up: 9:30-10:00PM, however parents may pick up their child(ren) at any time throughout the event. 

What to Bring:

• Comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes 
• Water bottle with child's name (preferred) 
• Meal arrangement (if not eating pizza) 
• Pillow and blanket to watch movie (optional)

Hot Shots League 2025 (Oct 20th - Dec 1st) - Fall 2025

Monday Evenings-Oct. 20th -Dec. 1st  Boys/Girls-Age Groups 5-6, 7-8, 9-10,11-12 Thursday is a possible playing night if we overfill.

This is a progressive, practice/play league. The first 20 minutes of each Monday will allow time for a team practice followed by games. This progressive approach allows for young players to build their fundamental skills of passing, shooting, rebounding and defense, while also learning strategies of the game through league play. Players will register as individuals and will be placed on teams by AYSA staff.

The first night of league, Monday October 20th, will be just a practice for the team!!

Time slots will be sent out closer to the season start time.

 Each player will be given a jersey. Volunteer coaches are required for this league. Please contact us at info@abileneysa.org if you are interested in coaching your child's team or a team in general.

Volleyball Holiday Camp (Nov. 24-25) - Winter 2025

VOLLEYBALL HOLIDAY CAMP

November 24-25

Age Groups:

3rd-6th Grade, 9am-10:30am

7th-8th Grade, 9am-10:30am

Cost: $70 per player

Our volleyball holiday camp is intended to cover every skill of the game of volleyball for your young athlete. This camp is for beginners as well as for those that have been playing for several years. Here is what will be included:

Serving: Footwork, armswing mechanics, building confidence, working on core power, jump serving for advanced players.

Hitting: Introduction to approaches and transitions, armswing mechanics, jumping for height and power.

Passing/Defense: Proper technique and footwork, controlling where the pass goes, and moving quickly to the ball. 

Setting: Introduction to setting techniques and proper hand contact on the ball. 

Games: We will be playing small mini-games each day to utilized the skills that have been presented. This can be serving games, short-court games, wave-through and rotation games. 

AYSA PAYMENT POLICY:

Advanced Hitting/Serving HS Camp (Nov. 24-25) - Winter 2025

9th-12th Grade (Limited to the first 10 athletes to register)

Cost: $70 per player

If your athlete is an advanced player who is looking for extra skill specific training in the area of hitting and serving then this is the camp for them! Emphasis will be placed on the following skill specific elements:

Hitting:

• Proper approach footwork mechanics that will lead to consistency and momentum building.
• Focus on proper power jumping techniques to get players to their most efficient vertical heights. 
• Transitioning from passer to attacker in a fluid motion while building momentum. 
• Learning how to hit with power by properly engaging the core. 
• Higher level hitting techniques and plays: running quicks, slides, shoots, tipping and roll shot training. 

Serving:

• Serving to score mentality.
• Building up more power and velocity in the serve.  
• Placement of the serve into specific zones on the court. 
• Higher Level Serving: Working on consistency with jump serves as well as short ball serving. 

For all AYSA camps, emphasis will be placed on repetition, technique, maximum efficient mobility, and proper mechanics.
