2026 Spring Rec Softball - Spring 2026

We are excited to have your player registered with Foothill Girls Softball League. Visit our Spring Recreation Program for more information, required equipment and important dates. 

Each player needs their own helmet (USA Softball approved), bat, cleats, glove and face mask. All players 8U and up are required to wear a fielding mask when playing infield. 6U players are encouraged to wear a fielding mask as well. 6U teams are assigned by school and geographically. 8U teams and above are drafted based on player evaluations in January. Parents cannot make team/carpool requests.

Practices begin mid-February and continue through the season. Games begin on Opening Day Ceremonies, Foothill Finale (playoffs) are held middle of May and the Championship games are held on Closing Day Ceremonies. Registration fee includes one jersey, insurance, registration with USA Softball, umpires, field equipment, team equipment and more. Teams may opt for coordinated pants, socks, and visors individually.

Players wishing to play up in a higher division must register in their current age division, submit a play up request and attend the evaluation for both their current division and the division they wish to play. Playing up is not guaranteed and is subject to coach and board approval.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • When do practices start?: Mid-February of current year. You will have two practices a week until Opening Ceremonies. We will try to maintain one scheduled practice once games start.
  • When do games start?: Games start Opening Ceremonies. Games will be scheduled 7 days a week. This includes Sundays. We will try our best to maintain one week day and one weekend game.
  • When is Opening Day?: Opening day is tentatively scheduled for March 14, 2026.
  • Spring Break: There will be no games scheduled March 28 - April 6, 2026
  • Do I have to enroll as a volunteer?: If you want to be a coach, assistant coach, manager, or work with players in any capacity, then you have to register as a volunteer and pay the fee. If you are doing field preparation or scorekeeper then you do not.
  • Do I have to pay the background fee?: Yes, all volunteers who successfully enroll will automatically be charged the background fee. Only the head coach, 1 assistant coach, and 1 manager will be refunded after clearing their background.
  • Can I get a refund?: Full refunds are available up until the date regular registration closes.
