What is Esports?
Esports (also known as electronic sports, e-sports, or eSports) is a form of sport competition using video games. Esports often take the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions. Generally, Esports can be applied to any type of digital game that is competitive, regardless of specific format and theme.
LGS Recreation has partnered with Mission Control (host platform) to bring Esports opportunities to our community. We are
looking for Competitive, Recreational, and Beginning
Gamers to join our Esports League for players who
want to gather and grow with their community in a safe
online gaming environment.
Mission Control is a platform for rec league Esports, similar to a local adult softball league or youth basketball league — but for video games. Mission Control manages the league schedule, validates scores, and determines the champion while also serving as a community forum for league members, family, and friends.
Gamers join Mission Control leagues (hosted by local and national organizations) for a casual, social experience doing something they love with their community.
What is the cost of participating?
Our Current leagues will be free. Future leagues will range from $5-$20 per season.
What equipment do I need to participate?
Participants must have access to their own console and game. Access to the consoles online network (Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Nintendo Switch Online) is required.
Participants will also need to download the Mission Control (host platform) app.
Is gaming equipment provided?
Equipment is currently not provided.
