 OKLAHOMA PREMIER LEAGUE (U11-U19)

For the OPL (Oklahoma Premier League), which serves as a highly competitive youth soccer league sanctioned by US Youth Soccer and the Oklahoma Soccer Association, here are the top 5 focus points:

High-Level Competition: Maintain and enhance the high level of competition within the league. This involves attracting and retaining top-caliber teams from across the state, ensuring that matches are competitive and challenging for all participants. Regularly assess and adjust league structures, rules, and formats to optimize competitiveness.

Player Development: Prioritize player development alongside competition. While the league offers high-level play, it should also serve as a platform for players to grow and improve their skills. Encourage clubs and coaches to prioritize player development principles in training and match environments, fostering a well-rounded soccer experience.

Pathways to Higher Levels: Provide pathways for players to advance to higher levels of competition and development. Partner with regional, national, and collegiate programs to create opportunities for talented players to showcase their abilities and pursue further opportunities in soccer. This could involve showcases, tournaments, scouting networks, and player identification programs.

Fairness and Integrity: Ensure fairness, transparency, and integrity in league operations and governance. Implement clear and consistent rules, regulations, and disciplinary procedures to maintain the integrity of competition. Promote sportsmanship, respect, and fair play among players, coaches, referees, and spectators.

Contribution to State Soccer Development: Play a central role in the development of competitive youth soccer players in Oklahoma. Collaborate with the Oklahoma Soccer Association and other stakeholders to align league objectives with broader state soccer development goals. Serve as a platform for talent identification, player pathways, coaching education, and overall growth of the sport at the youth level in the state.

By focusing on these key areas, the OPL can fulfill its mission of providing a highly competitive environment for youth soccer players in Oklahoma while also contributing to their development and the overall growth of soccer in the state.
