These two squads just might be the top two teams in the comp league, so a high-level result is to be expected. But, all I can say is WOW. What an entertaining match between two outstanding collections of players. I am sure glad I picked up Dale Schultz on my fantasy team, because this guy brought his blocking game tonight! But in the end, Nick Beck was just too much for Karasuno!

The officiating crew would like to apologize for a rather subpar effort tonight. Hopefully, he can regroup and sharpen things up before the state playoffs begin at the end of October. But as for the game, look at these scores! Salty and Dink are very evenly matched, and every set was ridiculously tight. In the end, Lexi and Mitch did enough for Dink to snatch two sets against Manny and Alyssa.

Congratulations to the Hippos on their first set wins of the season! However, things were definitely not easy against the dynamic Goobers. Caleb was on his game as usual for the Hippos, while Kyle and the Goobers demonstrated their typical great net play and elite athleticism. This also may have been Abby's best game in a year, as she guided the Goober offense all night long!

This one could not have been tighter, but Emma and Dale did enough to eke out a 2-1 victory against Salty. Manny ripped off a bunch of serves at the end of set two to earn Salty the split.

It's often said that volleyball is a game of momentum, and it was never more true than in this one. Every set featured one team jumping out to a significant lead, only to see the opponent claw right back into things! It was nice to see Pinz veteran Jaret make his triumphant return to the court! As usual, Carley owned the back row for Dink, while Becca and her sis did the same for the Hippos.

Tonight was Izzy's time to shine - this Sandwich product was all over the court for Karasuno! It was also nice to see Skye back in action for the top seed in December's playoffs. Norm did a nice job at the service line for PD, and the usual suspects of Emma, Matt and Dale kept the PD train chugging along. Both teams will be highly dangerous in the postseason.

Lots of high-level play in this one for both teams. Mitch. Jaret, Tash, and Nat in particular were very athletic, and Batavia's own Carley Chidester turned in her usual great performance. Salty had some subs tonight, but this team always brings top talent. Manny and crew did enough to snare two of three tight sets.
