6:30-7:30 pm: The game will begin with the visiting team batting first. Coaches will pitch to their own team.
Payments:
The entire league fee is due during registration. The cost of team shirts is included in the league fee.
Eligibility/Rosters:
All players’ legal guardians must agree to the online waiver upon registration.
Rosters will be set up by Apex PRD staff. Players must be on a roster to be eligible to play. A team may borrow a player from another team if both teams agree.
Teams must consist of at least 5 players, with a maximum of 10 players.
Players are allowed to play up an age group but may not play down.
Players may not appear on 2 rosters within the same division.
All teams are coed.
Coaches:
Coaches are typically volunteer parents or family members helping players learn and enjoy the game. Parents are encouraged to support their coach.
Coaches must pass a background check, complete courses assigned through Trusted Coaches as well as read and sign the volunteer coaches’ packet.
Up to 4 coaches/parents are allowed on the field, 2 from each team. All coaches will work together to help players be successful. An additional parent may assist players in the dugout, if desired.
Coaches are expected to adhere to all Apex PRD rules, policies, coaching guidelines, and philosophies. This is a recreational program. All players are to be treated equally, given equal playing time, and taught the fundamentals. They are to provide players with a fun atmosphere in which they can learn and progress in a positive way.
Coaches are responsible for the behavior of players, coaches, and parents.
Uniforms/Equipment:
Players are required to wear an Apex-provided team shirt to each game.
Athletic shoes are required; rubber cleats are optional. No metal cleats allowed.
T-Ball:
A 27” narrow barreled foam bat, provided by Apex PRD, will be used during games.
Jugs Sport Lite Flite foam balls will be used in games and practices.
Rubber tees, provided by Apex PRD, will be used in games and practices.
Players are required to provide their own baseball mitts.
Players may choose to wear a self-provided helmet.
Coach Pitch:
A 29” alloy 2 5/8” barreled bat, provided by Apex PRD, will be used during games.
Players are permitted to bring and use their own bat if it is deemed safe by the field supervisor.
Rawlings Soft Core Baseballs will be used in games and practices.
Rubber tees, provided by Apex PRD, will be used in games and practices.
Players will provide their own baseball mitts.
Helmets are required. We will have helmets available to use, or players may choose to wear a self-provided helmet.
Forfeit Procedure:
If a team needs to forfeit, coaches must contact the recreation coordinator by 2 pm on the scheduled game day. If a team has 2 no-calls/no-shows in the same season, the team may be removed from the league, and zero refunds will be provided.
Field:
Bases shall be set at 50 feet.
The designated pitching distance shall be set at 30 feet from the back of home plate.
Game Play:
Scores and standings are not kept during league play to give all players on both teams a positive experience.
Coaches will run the game as there will be no umpires. A field supervisor will help facilitate and monitor the game.
Coaches will meet at home plate at the beginning of each game and introduce themselves. Coaches need to work together as a team to help all players build skills and improve.
Home and visiting teams will be designated via the schedule on
com/Apex
. The visiting team will bat first.
Each player will bat each half-inning.
If players are not batting, they are required to be in the dugout or be lined up against the fence. However, one on deck batter is permitted.
Coaches can and are encouraged to position their batters and help them when they are batting.
There are no strikeouts.
There will be no bunting, leading off, or stealing.
Each half inning will end once the entire lineup has batted.
After batters hit the ball, they are required to only run to first base. After subsequent hits, they are only allowed to advance to the next base.
The last batter shall “clear the bases,” ending the half-inning.
Coaches will rotate lineups and defensive positions each week. Every child shall play every position throughout the season. There are no catchers.
Defensive players shall not cross over an imaginary arc of the same distance as the pitching rubber until the ball is hit.
All infield positions, except the catcher, will be filled, and the remaining players will be dispersed elsewhere on the field to help with coverage.
The defense is encouraged to make “outs,” but they will not be recorded and will not end the inning. The coach nearest to the area will be responsible for calling outs.
After gameplay, players and coaches will line up at home plate and clap hands with the opposing team to end the game.
Coach Pitch:
Coaches will pitch to their own teams. Each player will get a maximum of three pitches. If they are not able to hit the ball, a tee will be brought out for them to hit.
Blood Rule:
Any participant who is bleeding, has an open wound or has an excessive amount of blood on their uniform must leave the game.
The participant may not return until either the bleeding has stopped, the wound has been covered and bandaged, and/or the uniform has been changed.
Inclement Weather Policy:
Check
TeamSideline
for weather updates. We will make every effort to play games.
In the event of a cancellation, teams will be notified via email/text from TeamSideline.com (individuals must register for text messages to receive them).
In the event of rain or wet grounds, the officials and/or field supervisors will make the call if conditions are playable based on the city of Arvada designated criteria.
Rainout/Makeup Policy: It is Apex PRD’s policy to make up games as courts/fields are available. In the event of a cancellation, we will do our best to reschedule; however, this is not a guarantee.
Smoking and Alcohol:
No smoking or vaping of any kind will be permitted.
No consumption of alcohol will be allowed before, during, and/or after the game anywhere on the premises. This includes koozies, water bottles, or anything similar.
Glass bottles of any kind are prohibited.
Any player, manager, coach, and/or spectator caught smoking/vaping and/or consuming alcohol anywhere on the premises by either the field supervisors or officials will be ejected and must leave the facility.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct/Zero Tolerance Policy:
Zero tolerance policy: If any player, spectator, or coach is ejected from the game for any reason, they will not be allowed to return for the remainder of the season. They must leave the field immediately. Refunds will not be provided.
Fans must adhere to good sportsmanship. Yell to cheer on players, not harass coaches or opposing teams. Cheer on both teams.
Fans are required to keep fields safe and kid-friendly. Keep younger kids, coolers, chairs, and tents off the field. The only exception is parents who have volunteered to assist the coaches.
