Panthers Sideline Cheerleading

Games begin the last week in August
Playoffs begin in mid-November
We are looking to create the following sideline squads:
Kindergarten through 3 grade squad and 4th through 8th grade squad (Depending on girls signed up)
(2) 1 Hour practice a week no more then 1 ½ hour practices
Sideline Cheer will cheer at 1 to 2 games every weekend.
Games could be Saturdays and/or Sundays.
Sideline cheer will only cheer at home games (GBN Football Field) No Travel except for Super bowl.
Once the games start, practice will go down to 1 day a week.
Attendees polices: 4 absents and then removed for the sideline program
Excused absences include: Religious Education Commitments Only (Attending Church is not an excused absence) Illness (fever, vomiting, contagious)
Coaches reserve the right to ask for a doctor’s note due to excessive absences. Injury requiring medical attention, Pre-scheduled vacations

What are the eligibility requirements?
Your athlete must be in kindergarten through 8th grade during the fall season of the current year. Your athlete will be assigned to a squad based on the grade level of cheerleaders in the sideline cheer program.
When does the season begin?
The season typically starts July 15th and ends the last week of Oct. During the regular season, squads will cheer at roughly 8-10 home games only. Panther Cheerleaders will also support the football teams throughout the Flag Bowl and BGYFL playoffs in Mid-November.
How can I become involved with the sideline organization?
Panthers is a 100% volunteer program. Depending on your level of comfort, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. You can help by being a

When are practices?
Squads will practice a Maximum of 2 hours per week depending on the squad. Practices will be Mondays – Thursdays Only (exact days to be determined) Once games start, practice will be 1 day a week. Minimum 1 to 1 ½ hour practice.
Practice will be two days a week tell last week of Aug. Starting September practice will be one day a week tell last week in October.
Schedules will be communicated via email prior to the start of the season and are subject to change. Ample notification will be sent out as needed.
Where are practices?
Exact dates are determined by the Carol Stream Park District and dependent on outdoor and indoor availability. Practices may be outdoors during summer months and/or inside during fall months depending on the park district’s availability.
What is included in my registration fee?
Panthers is a non-profit organization. Registration fees help cover fees such as park district usage costs, insurance costs, slush funds, mandatory fundraiser, bow, and uniform cost. Registration fees do not cover shoes (white cheer shoes).
Do the sideline cheerleaders compete in cheer competitions?
No, our sideline cheer does not compete at competitions. Our Sideline Cheer is meant as an opportunity for those that are interested in learning about the sport cheerleading in a fun environment with minimal commitment.
The squad is expected to cheer at the scheduled home games along with performing a halftime routine. Additionally, there is the Panther Flag bowl and BGYFL playoffs at the end of the season where they would also cheer and perform a halftime routine.
Will I have to do fundraising?
To keep registration costs down, cheerleaders will participate in one fundraiser totaling $100 which is paid at the time of registration but not included in the above cost of registration. The raffle tickets will be distributed during the athletes first practice week and raffle stubs must be turned back in by a designated date made by the program that is yet to be determined.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds must be requested in writing before June 15, 2025, are eligible for a full refund of the registration fee paid (less the cost of raffle tickets, and uniform)
No refunds will be provided after June 15, 2025, for any reason, including injury.
Sideline Cheerleading is a discipline of cheer that involves athletes who cheer in support of youth/recreational sports, most often football. Sideline cheerleaders help cheer, chant, and create an energetic atmosphere during games and events.
Our Sideline Cheerleaders will cheer for our Flag Teams through Varsity Football Team.

One to two 1-hour practices weekly
One to two weekend games every weekend during the season; either Saturday or Sunday
