Paddle Stacking Rules

Basic Rules

  • No player may place extra paddles in the rack (1 player, 1 paddle).
  • Players should never rearrange the paddle stack to favor themselves or their friends. Always respect the order in which paddles were placed.
  • If a player needs to take a break or leave, they should remove their paddle from the stack. If they wish to rejoin later, their paddle goes to the end of the line.
  • Games will be played using traditional scoring-first to 11 points, requiring only a 1-point lead to win.
  • After each game, all players come off the court, making way for 4 new players. Winners don’t stay on.

Open Play (4 Players)

  • Open play takes place when a group of 4 players chooses to play together.
  • All 4 paddles must be together before placing them in the paddle rack.
  • Paddle groups rotate onto the first available court in the order their paddles appear in the paddle rack.
  • The incoming group takes all four paddles and moves the tracker to the next set, ensuring everyone knows which paddles are up next.

Drop-In Play (Single Players)

  • Drop-in play is for individuals looking to join a game when they don't have a group. It's a great way for pickleball players to connect with new people while enjoying the sport.
  • Players place their paddles in the paddle rack. When four paddles reach the front or are next in line, those players take the empty court for the next game.
  • The incoming group takes their paddles and moves the tracker to the next set, ensuring everyone knows which paddles are up next.
  • This cycle continues, ensuring everyone gets a chance to play.
