Boardman Park & Recreation District is considered a local Government Special District with a 5-member elected Board of Directors. We manage over 100 acres of public lands which include 5 free day-use areas with softball and soccer fields, a splash pad, playgrounds, sand volleyball, horseshoe pits, 5 restrooms, swimming areas, boat docks, boat lunch, a marina, picnic shelters, a 3.4-mile paved walking trail, 75 spaces of public campground and recently the district has put in an 18 hole disc golf course (Sponsored by The Boardman Chamber of Commerce).
On July 1st, 2017, the district opened a 43,000 sq. ft recreation center that has a pool, 2 basketball courts, an aerobics room, a multipurpose room, a rock climbing wall, and a weight room. The recreation center provides swim lessons, kids programming, workout classes, parties, and day-use of the recreation center.
