EIBL Challenger Program

EIBL Challenger Program

What is the EIBL Challenger Program?
The EIBL Challenger Program is Eastchester's adaptive basketball program for children with special needs.

Who can participate in EIBL's Challenger Program?
Any child with special needs between the ages of 4-12 who reside in and/or attend school within the Town of Eastcheser, or Villages of Tuckaoe and Bronxville.

What can you and your child expect?
The EIBL Challenger Program is designed to provide a fun-filled hour of exercise through modified basketball activities and drills. Your child will learn basketball fundamentals, participating in a variety of drills and games over the course of the 9 week program. Each session will last one hour. We will be employing a "buddy" system to assist the younger children over the course of the program. Our buddy community will consist largely of students of all ages from the above mentioned towns but may also be a sibling, parent or guardian. Very simply, buddies are there to help your children. They encourage the children to participate in each drill and are always nearby to lend a hand when needed. The use of the buddie are a vital part of the program's success, benefitting not only your child but the community as a whole by developing kids into leaders and role models and better mainstreaming of our special needs population.
