Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is required of an offical?: You control the game, make the calls and enforce the rules. This is an entry level officiating position. You get to learn how to officiate along with our younger players learning the game. You MUST know the rules for the 4 levels that we offer prior to the first game. Coaches feedback will be considered in determining if you continue getting scheduled, or at what level. Knowledge is power!
  • Who can register?: Anyone 7th (12 years old) - 12th grade can become an official, but their parent/guardian needs to complete the registration. No experience is necessary. Having played baseball is not necessary. You must have transportation to games.
  • How many officials do you hire?: We limit the number of officials to 20 so that everyone can make a decent amount of money for the season. Please do not sign up if you are not serious. If we have reached out limit, you will be waitlisted and contacted if someone drops off in order of registration.
  • Can I officiate if I play baseball?: Most of the time a players schedule will conflict with Saturday games. Minors games are between 8am and 6pm. If you play or practice on Saturdays it will be difficult to add you to the schedule for many games.
  • Are there mandatory days?: We have a training day that is TBD. You must be available on April 5th, June 14th and June 15th for opening and playoff/championship games. If you are not available any of those days, please do not register.
  • What days are the games?: Most games are on Saturdays; however, if they are cancelled due to weather they can be rescheduled anytime. The official(s) that were originally scheduled on the game will have the first right of refusal on any rescheduled game.
  • What if I am unavailable for a Saturday?: We will request your availability for a month at a time, 2 weeks before the end of the prior month. This is when you let us know what days you can work.
  • What if I can't make a game?: Once a schedule is made, you are responsible for getting your schedule covered if you cannot make a game. We will give you information on how to do this.
  • What do I wear?: A navy or black collared shirts and khaki, navy or black pants or shorts. Hats must not have anything inappropriate on them. Looking professional is a must.
  • What gear do I need?: You must have a belt bag for extra balls and a counter, a face mask, a chest guard and your cell phone to keep time and check the weather app (if needed). We will have some to checkout (first come, first served). If you checkout gear from us your last paycheck will be withheld until you turn it in.
  • What is the pay?: Each game is $25. If an official is ALONE on a Second Year Coach Pitch (AAA) or Modified Kid Pitch (AAAA) game the pay will be $35.
  • When do I get paid?: We pay you at the beginning of the month for the prior month's games. Example: You worked 5 games in May - your check will arrive the first week of June. You must submit a W9 before getting paid.
