Austin Gessner will be joining us this season to lead our JV team. Gessner was a member of Coach Seidel's first freshman class in 2010 at Chaminade (played midfield) graduating in 2013. Austin was a football quarterback and a lacrosse captain. He knows what it takes and exemplifies a servant leader. In the fall of 2018 he joined the coaching staff at CCP and coached at some capacity as his schedule allowed until after Coach Seidel's tenure through 2022. Over five seasons he coached at every level, especially at JV.
Eric Kelly will be joining us this youth season to lead our 7/8th grade team. Eric was a member of Seidel's first freshman class in 2010 at Chaminade (played defense) graduating in 2013. It was a transformative era at Chaminade and the Kelly brothers were a members of some of the hardest working teams. He knows what it takes and is up to the challenge of a season preparing our youth guys for high school lacrosse. In the fall of 2015 he joined the coaching staff at CCP and coached at some capacity as his schedule allowed until 2021. Over six seasons he coached at every level; brand new youth guys through 8th graders trying to win founders cups. He can coach a game at any level and specialized in running the varsity box during games.
Oliver Byers is an assistant varsity lacrosse coach for Lafayette lacrosse starting in 2024. He was born in Oregon and has a well traveled background before landing in the Wildwood/Chesterfield area. Raised as a multi-sport athlete that focused solely on lacrosse in 8th grade, Oliver played varsity level lacrosse all 4 years of high school with Lafayette Lacrosse from 2012-2016. He later continued on to play at the collegiate level under head coach Kevin Kelley at Rockhurst University (Kansas City, MO). Off the field, Oliver has received his undergraduate degree in accounting and a MBA with an emphasis in finance from Rockhurst University.
