The Electric Pumas have been playing together since the Spring of 2018. Captain Aly, first put herself on Loveland’s free agent list hoping to get picked up by an already existing team. When weeks went by and nobody was contacting her she decided to take things into her own hands. “There were all these other names waiting to be contacted and put on a team why don't we just form our own?” She gathered up everyone's names and numbers that wanted to play soccer and sent out a mass group text asking if anyone was interested, responses poured in immediately. The team was a little late registering for the season, so a lot of the team met for the first time at their first game, they've been a team ever since. The Electric Pumas all come from different backgrounds, from different states, different countries, some are parents, some are married, and some are single. They all have different levels of playing ability but share a great balance of competitiveness and playing for fun. Aly says, “We truly are a family and all of my teammates have been nothing but a light in my life, our group chat never fails to bring a smile to my face. It's weird to think how much people can bond over a soccer ball but I know they'll be in my life forever. Our teammate Derek moved to Singapore at the beginning of the year and we still chat with him every week!” Even though the team has only been together for a few seasons they have made it to the final of the tournament every single season and have won the league once. Aly hopes that more adults look into joining an adult sports team it’s easy to lose sight of the things that make us happy. Getting back into playing a sport you used to play or maybe even trying one you've never played before can be scary but it will end up changing your life. It will not only help you physically by getting you outside and exercising, it will also help you mentally by giving you something fun to look forward to.
