Welcome to the Youth Sports Parent Page

The City of Rialto Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department encourages all parents to actively engage in their child's athletic journey. Below, you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about our sports program:

 Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: My child cannot participate in this season; what are my options?

Answer: The City of Rialto Community Services is committed to customer service. If your child cannot participate before the season begins, you have two options: Credit your registration fees to a future season. Request a cash refund (takes 4-6 weeks to process). Refund/Credit Policy: Requests must be made within 48 hours after the first class/activity meeting. Sports refund requests are due by the Friday of the first week of practices. In-person requests with the original receipt are subject to a $10 processing fee.

Question 2: I haven't received a call from a coach for this season; what should I do?

Answer: Coaches are volunteers, and delays may occur. Ensure your contact information is updated with the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department at 909-421-4949. Call for team, practice, and coach information.

Question 3: My schedule allows for specific practice days only; can this be accommodated?

Answer: Players are randomly assigned based on skill sets, and special requests are not accepted. For siblings in the same age group, provide this information during registration.

Question 4: My child's jersey/shirt doesn't fit; what's the process for replacement?

Answer: Check with the recreation staff. If the wrong size was given during registration, a replacement can be ordered. If from the printer, replacement may take up to 3 weeks for $30.00.

Question 5: I paid for season pictures and didn't receive them; what should I do?

Answer: Contact the photographer directly. Call the Parks, Recreation & Community Service department for vendor information.

Question 6: My child missed the skills assessment/parent meeting; what happens now?

Answer: Parent information is available during the first 2 weeks. Ask staff for materials; your child will be placed on a team based on their age.

Question 7: Where are practices held for my child's team?

Answer: Practices are at the Carl Johnson Center Gym, local middle schools, or parks, usually on off days like Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday, with some teams practicing on Fridays.

Question 8: How long are the seasons, and when are the games played?

Answer:

Little Tots Sports sessions last 5 weeks on Saturday mornings.

Girls Volleyball and Co-Ed basketball have 8-10 week seasons with games on Friday evenings and Saturdays, respectively.

Question 9: I am unhappy with my child's coach; what can I do?

Answer: Submit a written statement to the Parks and Recreation Department via email at recreation@rialtoca.gov or in person at 214 N Palm Ave, Rialto, CA 92376.

Question 10: I believe a team is competing unfairly; what are the rules?
