The Impact program, located at the Everts Center, brings vital support and healing to families in Pickaway County and surrounding areas who have been impacted by addiction, abuse, neglect, and trauma. We work with caregivers, children, caseworkers, and schools to provide resources for families who have been impacted by trauma, specifically relational trauma. Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) began at Texas Christian University and the Gospel is at the heart of this curriculum. We have two TBRI®practitioners in Pickaway County, who received over 120 hours of training from Texas Christian University and have access to over 100 hours of curriculum that can be customized to meet individual needs.

Hope for the journey

Children navigating the journey of adoption and foster care often carry unique needs. The Hope for the Journey Conference is your gateway to a wealth of knowledge, understanding, and practical tools to help support children, parents, and families in our community. The Impact Program will be hosting this 7-week series for foster, adoptive, and kinship caregivers, as well as professionals working with children who have experienced trauma. The series is a simulcast taught by the amazing trainers from the Karyn Purvis Institute for Childhood Development, with a TBRI Practitioner hosting each night.

We will view a different module each night with in-depth discussion on Trust-Based Relational Intervention and application into our personal or professional lives. Series runs every Monday from April 15, 2024 to May 20, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  All materials will be provided. Individuals can attend any number of days, with the opportunity to earn a certificate for up to 14 contact hours of trauma-informed training. Cost to attend is $50 per participant.

The mantra of the Impact program is "one family at a time." We know that working with professionals and caregivers can create a ripple effect that can impact a whole community.
