GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration for the Spring baseball season typically opens online in late November, with one date designated as an in-person registration day.  In early January, the regular registration period starts followed by the Late Registration period which includes a late fee.

Verification of age and three forms of proof of residency must be brought for ALL new players who wish to register.  Age verification can take the form of a birth certificate, passport, or other original document issued by state, federal or provincial registrars of vital statistics.  Proofs of residency should be three or more documents which show the address of legal residence for the parent(s) or guardian(s) of the player.  These can include a driver's license, an electric or other utility bill, and a financial record such as a bank, credit card or loan statement.  Please note:  Three utility bills count as one proof.

If you have more than one player who are close in age, you may request the sibling clause when registering.  This allows siblings to be on the same team to make practices and games easier for you.  You may also request a specific manager, coach or player when registering a T-Ball or Farm player.  Minors, Majors and Juniors however must go through a draft.

Costs vary by level of play.  In addition to paying by cash or check in person, or credit card online, our league also offers payment plans, and partial and full scholarships based upon demonstrated financial need.  Discounts offered are the multi-player discount (valid when you are paying for more than one child), and Early Registration.  Your registration fees cover the Little League Patch, team hat, team photo and year-end award for Tee Ball - AA, as well as aiding in league operating expenses such as field rentals, maintenance and equipment.  

Your child's uniform needs will vary based on level of play also.  AAA and above will need cleats, baseball pants, baseball socks, a belt, and a glove.  For boys, you will also need to purchase a cup and support.  Your Manager will let you know what color socks, belt and pants s/he would like to go with for the season.  Please note:  Soccer cleats are not the same as baseball cleats and cannot be used during games. 

Managers, coaches and teams are usually determined by mid-February, with practice starting toward the end of February or beginning of March.  Typically during pre-season, you can expect two practice days per week.  Once the regular season starts, you can calculate three days out of every week being devoted to baseball - this could be two games and a practice, or two practices and a game, etc.  

Early in the season, expect games and practices to be rained out occasionally.  Check the website often for weather-based field availability on the Home/Welcome page.  Teams communicate via Team Sites.  Downloading the TeamSideline APP is highly recommended & subscribing to your player's game & practice schedule is a must!  If games are changed, your calendar will automatically change.

Family Night at Colfax Ball Park is a fun-filled family event with raffle prizes, team photos, delicious BBQ meals & the annual Hit-A-Thon.  The Juniors players participate in an annual "Home Run Derby" at Colfax Ball Park later in the season.  The fans go crazy wild watching the oldest Little Leaguers knock'em out of the ballpark under the lights!  Both events are open to the entire baseball community!

For a handful of ball players, post-season play continues through mid-July.  The Tournament of Champions (TOC) is for teams that win the end-of-the-year SFLL Tournament in AAA, Majors, Intermediate and Junior divisions, while the All Stars are the best players from all teams at each Minor, Major & Junior level who are voted to represent the Sierra Foothills Little League in the district-wide championships.  If you are really lucky (and a Major or Junior) your All Star team might even move on to the regionals & beyond!
