Saint Frances Cabrini Middle School Athletics has joined the Chinook Middle School League.
We are excited to announce that Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic School Athletics has been accepted as a new member of the Chinook Middle School League and the WIAA! Starting in the ’22-’23 school year our 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams will begin competing in the new league. Along with our fellow Pierce County Catholic Schools, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Patrick's and Pope St. John XXIII (formerly Visitation) we will become the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th members of this strong league. The Chinook League is Pierce County based and will allow St. Frances Cabrini to align with other like-minded schools that share our vision of Christian Spirit focused athletics while providing a healthier, stronger amount of teams to compete against. Our new league members are as follows: St. Patrick (Tacoma) St. Charles Borromeo (Tacoma) Pope St. John XXIII (Tacoma) Sound Christian (Tacoma) St. Frances Cabrini (Lakewood) Heritage Christian (University Place) Chief Leschi (Puyallup) Carbonado Middle School (Carbonado) Pacific Christian (Federal Way) Muckleshoot Tribal School (Auburn) Rainier Christian (Auburn) Lighthouse Christian (Gig Harbor) Crosspoint (Bremerton) With this shift, we will have a few changes to our middle school season schedule. Cross Country and Volleyball will both occur in the autumn, August 29th - October 21st. We will have two separate basketball seasons for boys and girls during the winter. Boys will run from October 24th to December 16th. Girls will run from January 9th to March 3rd. Additionally, our teams will now be split between Varsity and JV. Our 4th and 5th grade teams will also have some league transitions, however the season schedule will stay fairly similar. Cross Country will remain in the autumn, Boys and Girls Basketball during the winter and Volleyball during the spring. We look forward to the evolution of our athletic program here at Saint Patrick and the opportunities these changes will have for our student-athletes to not only compete, but to succeed at their highest levels possible.
