Track & Field 2026 - Spring 2026

TRACK & FIELD REGISTRATION IS OPEN!  

CYO Track & Field is open to parishioners and students of St. Gertrude from grades K-8.  Additional associated parishes are invited per the CYO neighboring parish rule.

Meets K to 6th are instructional in nature while 7th and 8th grade meets are scored.  

Events:

K-2:  50m, 75m, 100m, 200, 4x100m relay - Long Jump and Softball throw.

Grades 3-4:  50m, 75m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay - Long Jump, High Jump, Shot/Softball Throw.

Grades 5-6:  75m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100 relay, 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay - Long Jump, High Jump, Shot put and Discus.  

Grades 7-8:  100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 4x100m Relay, 4x200m Relay, 4x400m Relay, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot put and Discuss.

We will not participate in the CYO meets scheduled on March 27th and March 28th.  Our first meets will be April 10th and April 11th. 

St. Gertrude hosts its inaugural meet this season.  It is on April 10th & 11th at St. Xavier.  Parents are asked to volunteer to make this a successful event.  More information to come.  

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Practices for Kindergarten to 4th Grade: Practices begin the week of March 16th. Practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7pm.
  • Practices for 5th to 8th Grade: Practices begin the week of March 2nd. Practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays. On 3/2 & 3/4 - practices are 6pm to 7pm. On 3/9 & 3/11 - practices are 6pm to 7:15pm From 3/16 and beyond practices are at 6:45 to 8pm.
  • Where are Practices?: Practices are at Moeller.
  • Timeline of regular season meets?: The first meet of the season will be held the weekend of April 10th and April 11th, and the last meet of the season will be held on May 16th at LaSalle High School.
  • When are meets held?: 7th and 8th Grade: Meets are held on Friday evenings and 1 Saturday afternoon on 5/2. Kindergarten to 4th grade: Meets are held Saturday mornings. 5th & 6th grade: Meets are held are held on Saturday afternoons and 1 Friday evening on 5/16.
  • What division are we in?: For CYO City Championships, we participate in Division 1. City Championships will be held at LaSalle High School. City Championships will be on May 15th for the 5th and 6th Grade team and May 15th for the 7th and 8th grade team. While for Kindergarten to 4th grade, the meet will be held on May 16th.
  • What are the levels of competition?: Athletes compete in the following divisions: K-2nd Grade, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and Junior High (7th/8th)
  • Coaching Help: We are in need of coaching help for kindergarten to 4th grade. We also need help with coaching Long Jump and High Jump for 5th to 8th grade. Please contact Cameron Simoneau if interested. cameron@tristaterunning.com
  • What does my child need for T & F?: Running shoes & shorts and a water bottle. A Bulldogs Track team tee shirt will be issued as the uniform jersey for meets. All St. Gertrude Team members and all track & field / cross country athletes from any area schools receive a 20% discount to Tri-State Running Company.
  • Do I need to pay the $30 Booster's Fee?: Yes, if you are a St. Gertrude parishioner with an athlete playing in their "first sport of the year" for 2025-2026. If any child has participated in any sport for this year, you are considered paid.
  • Am I exempt from the $30 Booster's fee?: If you are a non-St. Gertrude parishioner, you are exempt from the $30 fee. Be aware that you are liable to your organization for fees, terms, and conditions.

Mandatory for ALL St. Gertrude parishioners ONCE per family during the 2024-2025 school year. If this is your family's "first sport of the year", you SHOULD PAY the $30 fee. If you have had any child play in any sport during the 2023-2024 school year, you are PAID!
