Sunrise Little League Divisions of Play

Tee Ball: Typically ages 4-5 and first year players.  No tryouts as players will be placed on teams.  Please request a coach or friend if you would like to during registration.  We will do our best to accommodate player/coach requests.

Rookie: Primarily for players 6-7 yrs of age.  This is a developmental division and players will be moved around to maximize their development and to learn the game.  Coaches pitch to players.  We will do our best to accommodate player/coach requests.

Farm: Primarily for players 7-9 yrs of age.  This is the first division with kids pitching. This is still a developmental division, but teams are formed by a player draft. This division is for 7-8 year olds and 9 year olds who have never played before.

Minors: Primarily for players 8-10 yrs of age with first year 11 yr old players.  8 year olds that have already played farm and are more experienced can try out for this division.  Teams will be formed by a player draft.

Majors: For players 10-12 yrs of age.  10 yr old players can "play up," and are usually identified by coaches and board members.  Teams will be formed by player draft.

50/70: 11-13 yrs of age.  This is an additional division where players can leadoff and play "Juniors" style baseball but on a smaller field.  50' pitching mound and 70' bases.  Games will be played at parks around the district so there will be travel involved.  If signed up for either Majors or Juniors, you can also play 50/70 for an additional fee.  If just playing 50/70, normal registration fees will apply.  (Please note: registration opens late for this division and this division's teams are put together right before the season starts, so there may be limited practice before games begin.  We will only field a team in this division if there is enough interest.)

Juniors: Primarily for 13-14 yr old players.  Games will be played at parks around the district so there will be travel involved.  Teams will be formed by a player draft.

Seniors: 15-16 yr old players.  Games will be played at parks around the district so there will be travel involved.  This division generally starts in Late April, Early May.  Teams will be formed by a player draft if needed.
