Basketball - Winter 2024

Excited for the new basketball season in Wake Forest? Registration opens on September 1st for residents and on September 8th for non-residents. Register early to secure your spot and avoid the waitlist—spaces are not guaranteed!

Registration Period:

• Residents Only: September 1-7, 2024
• Non-Resident Registration Begins (if spaces are available): September 8, 2024

Fees: Residents: $60 | Non-Residents: $100 

• Participants must reside within Wake Forest town limits to qualify as a resident. When an age group has reached capacity, a wait list will begin.

Age Determination:

• Boys: 5-17 | Girls 5-15

• Participants' league age is based on their age as of December 31, 2024.

Proof of Age Required:

• All new participants must provide a birth certificate at registration.

Team Placement:

• Siblings within the same age group will be placed on the same team.
• Specific team or coach requests are not considered.

Practices/Games - Flaherty Park Community Center, Joyner Park Community Center, Heritage Middle School, Franklin Academy High School.

CURRENT WAITLISTED GROUPS - 8U COED, 10U Girls & Boys, 12U Girls & Boys, 14U Boys, 17U Boys - WFPRCRD Athletics will contact waitlist players if spots become available. 

Baseball, Softball, T-Ball Leagues - Spring 2025

Spring 2025 Youth Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball Leagues

Registration opens February 1, 2025 for boys ages 5-17 and girls ages 5-16. Join us for skill-building, teamwork, and fun!

League Age: Determined by the participant’s age as of April 30, 2025. New participants must provide a birth certificate at registration to confirm age.

Limited Spaces: Each age group has limited spots available. Once an age group reaches capacity, a waitlist will begin. Note: League/age assignments are strictly based on age, with no exceptions.

Participant Fees:

• Town of Wake Forest Residents: $60, registration opens February 1
• Non-Residents: $100, registration opens February 8
• Residency is determined by the participant’s home address within Town limits.

Team Placement: Siblings in the same age group will be placed on the same team, but requests for specific teams, players, or coaches cannot be accommodated.

Practice & Game Schedule:

• Practices: 1-2 times per week, with 5-7 sessions.
• Games: 8-10 game season (depending on field space and the number of teams), with a tournament for ages 10U and up (tball & rookie league - regular season only)

• Season Duration:

  • Evaluations: Mid/late March (no evaluations for tball & rookie leagues)
  • Practices: Late March through April
  • Games: April through June (with potential to extend into late June if necessary)

Volunteer Coaching Opportunities: Interested in coaching? Register your child first, then signup online to volunteer. Each team may have up to 1 head coach and 2 assistants.

Requirements for Coaches (after being selected):

• Complete a background screening before the first practice
• Complete NAYS Coaches Training before the first game
• Coaching spots are limited and may reach capacity

NOTE: Registration may close early if all team spots and waitlist spots reach maximum capacity.

Adult Co-Rec Volleyball League - Spring 2025

New This Spring: 6v6 Adult Co-Rec Volleyball League in Wake Forest!

Join our exciting new 6v6 Adult Co-Rec Volleyball League, launching this spring! Here’s what you need to know:

• Format: 6v6 play with a lineup of 4 men and 2 women on the court at all times.
• Match Structure: Best of 3 games using rally scoring.
  • Game 1 & Game 2: First to 21 points, win by 2 (or first to 25 points).
  • Game 3 (if needed): Straight to 15 points.

Season Details

• Team Registration: 2/1/25-2/28/25
• Start Date: League play begins in mid-March.
• Format: 8-game regular season, followed by an end-of-season tournament to crown the league champions.
• Schedule: Games will be held on Sunday afternoons through mid to late May.

Games will be held at Joyner Park Community Center located at 701 Harris Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Rosters and Player Add/Drop Policy

• Roster Submission: Team rosters must be finalized and submitted prior to the season’s first game.
• Add/Drop Period: A one-week period for player adjustments will be available starting from the first game of the season. After this window, rosters are locked.

Adult Co-Rec Kickball League - Spring 2025

Spring Adult Co-Rec Kickball League

Get ready for an exciting season of kickball! This spring league, hosted in collaboration with RDU Sports, offers competitive play in a fun, community-centered environment.

Season Details

• Team Registration: 2/1/25-2/28/25
• Start Date: League play begins in mid-March.
• Format: 8-game regular season, followed by an end-of-season tournament to crown the league champions.
• Schedule: Games will be held on Sunday afternoons through mid to late May.

Games will be held at Heritage High School Park’s lower fields (250' and/or 300' fields) located at 1150 Forestville Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587 or Flaherty Park field 2 located at 1100 N. White St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Adult Spring Competitive & Recreational Softball Leagues - Spring 2025

Spring Adult Softball League

Join us this spring for the Adult Softball League in Wake Forest, where players can choose between recreational and competitive leagues to match their skill level and enjoy the game at their own pace.

League Overview

• Start Date: League play begins in mid-March.
• Game Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and possibly Thursdays.
• Game Times: Start times are 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, and 9:00 PM.
• Divisions:
  • Social/Recreational League (Lower): For players seeking a casual, relaxed environment focused on fun and enjoyment.
  • Mid-Competitive League (Middle): Designed for those looking for a moderate level of competition, ideal for teams with some experience.
  • Competitive League (Upper): Tailored for more skilled players and teams, featuring high-level competition.

  Depending on team numbers, we’ll organize the league into two or three divisions to best match skill levels and ensure balanced play.

Eligibility - Participants must be 18 years or older to join.

Schedule - Teams can expect to play 1-2 games per week.

Game Rules & Equipment

• Strike Mat: A strike mat will be used for all games.
• Balls Provided: All game balls will be supplied by the league.

Rosters and Player Add/Drop Policy

• Add/Drop Period: Teams can adjust rosters within the first two weeks of the season. After this window, rosters will be locked for the remainder of the season.
