Our sports curriculum is focused on Youth Development: Nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We believe that all children deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That's why, through the Y, millions of youth today are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. The Recreational Program is a developmental sports program for all youth players. A system of rostering players to teams must be used to establish a fair and balanced distribution of playing talent among all teams participating in the same age group within the league. The use of try-outs, invitations, recruiting or a similar process to roster players to any recreational team on the basis of talent or ability is prohibited. Recreational sports is for children who love sports, but do not want to commit to any competitive environment. Recreation teams are coached by a volunteer.
