Opportunities 

Teen Referee Training Program 

• The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is looking for enthusiastic high school students to train and work within our After School Sports Program as a flag football, volleyball or basketball official. On game days, youth referees will be partnered with an experienced official to provide mentorship and continuous training.  Game days and times are Monday through Thursday, from 3:45pm-7pm. Youth officials will typically work two days a week (September-March). Officials will earn a referee certification and will be provided a referee shirt and whistle. Training dates will vary based on sport and season and will include classroom and hands-on instruction.

Program Leader (After School Sports and Mobile Rec)

• The City of Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is looking for enthusiastic people to work within our After School Sports and Mobile Recreation programs operated out of Red Morton Community Center. The hours of this position could be Monday through Friday, from 3:30pm-8:30pm during the school year (September-March), but nighttime and weekend hours will be mandatory depending on special events and program needs. During the spring and summer, duties will include, but are not limited to, serving as an assistant coach within our Junior Dribblers basketball program and assisting with mobile recreation activities at various parks and school sites (hours vary).
