I already have a team put together — what do I need to do next?

If you already have your players organized and plan to coach, please complete the Team Roster Form

  • Once your roster is submitted, parents can register their child online and list your name under the “Coach Request” section.
  • You do not need to email your roster separately even if it changes occur after submission.
  • Roster Management: Coaches and Team managers who were submitted from the roster submission will be added to Team Sideline after so they can see their rosters being manually updated.
  • Roster Updates: Any addition players from the original submission must be submitted through the Youth Sports Concern form

How do parents register their child to be on my team?

Parents should complete the player registration through the YMCA Core link and list your name as the coach.

Make sure your team's name and spelling are consistent across all registrations to ensure players are correctly placed.

Step-by-Step

  1. Register your team/roster
  2. Complete Volunteer matters- Child abuse prevention, sexual harassment and athlete protection
  3. Notify parents to register
  4. Submit any date conflicts
  5. Please check the team checklist for more details

My child is not part of a team yet, can they still play?

Absolutely! If your child does not have a team, they will be put on the "free agent" list. Parents/ Player will be notified if the sports staff cannot find a team for the player. If your player is on the "free agent"/"need coach team", that means we need a parent from the team to coach this season and be a volunteer coach for the team. Please view our Coaches Information page if you can be a volunteer coach.

**YMCA reserves the right to add any player(s) to a roster if necessary.

Friend/Coach Requests

The Richardson YMCA staff recognizes the value of playing on a team with a friend. Playing with a friend help keep kids in sports and make the experience more fun. Friendships can also be important for good sportsmanship and creating memories. Meeting new teammates who become friends is fun as well as an opportunity to make lifelong friends and learn new skills.

Friend/Coach requests are accepted on registration forms but are not guaranteed.
