Fall Paddle Battle Pickleball Tournament - November 22 - Fall 2024

Join us for our fall adult coed pickleball tournament on November 22! The first games will begin at 6:00 PM and will be played by teams of two players. There will be two brackets - beginner and intermediate. If there are not enough teams, then brackets will be combined to one and beginner players will be moved up one seed on the bracket. The 1st place winners in each bracket will receive prizes. If you register by November 6 , your team shirts will be included. Games will be self-officiated, double elimination, two game guarantee, and participants will receive their game schedule on November 21, the day before the tournament.

Only one registration per team please. Upon registration, you will be asked your teammate's name, team name, team shirt sizes (if register by November 6 ), which bracket you would like to play in, and team color. Game balls will be provided, and we will have some paddles available for use, but feel free to bring your own.

Who: At least one person age 18+ on each team
When: November 22 - first round games start 6:00PM

Candy Club - December 4, 11, 18 - Fall 2024

Children ages 6-12 are invited to the Smithville Senior Center for a sweet adventure! On December 4, 11, and 18 from 4:30-6:00 PM, we'll be making delicious candy, candy-themed crafts, and snacks. Don't miss out on the fun and creativity!

Little Hoopsters Basketball Clinic - Winter 2024

You and your child will engage in activities that focus on balance, coordination, motor skills, and fundamentals of introductory basketball.  Sessions include a simple structured clinic where participants will learn basketball through movement, imagination, and creativity. Little Hoopsters program is a clinic, not a league - no games, teams, or practices. Parents are expected to assist their child. Clinic shirt and end of program medal included; parents will provide shoes.

Youth Basketball - Winter 2024

This is a recreational basketball league open to children grades 3rd-6th of all skill levels. This league is partnered with 9 other communities: East Buch, Mid- Buch, Dekalb, Platte City, North Platte, West Platte, Lathrop, Lawson, and Plattsburg. There will be some game travel included. SPR will provide a jersey, parents will provide shorts and shoes, (28.5 size basketball optional). *2nd graders are not allowed to move up, to play in the league at this time.

Fee: $75

Games: Each team is guaranteed 8 games played only on Saturdays starting 12/7. Home games will be held at Horizon Elementary and Maple Elementary. Tentative game dates are 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8. 

Practices: Each team will have 1-2 practices/week based on coach's schedule starting week of 11/4. Practices will be held at Horizon and Maple Elementary.

End of Season Tournaments: 4th boys & 4th girls at EB, 6th boys at Smithville, 5th boys at DK, 3rd girls at WP, 6th and 5th girls at MB, 3rd boys at LP

Volunteer Coaching: The recreation sports programs are dependent upon volunteer coaches. If you would like to coach, please click the "Volunteer" tab below! Coaches can choose three players, including their own child(ren), to be on the team they coach. The teams' practice schedules are chosen by the volunteer coach around their schedule. If you would like to guarantee a particular practice day+/time for your child, you are welcome to volunteer coach!
