RECREATION SOCCER

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Deep Run Soccer Recreation Program provides the opportunity for boys and girls to further develop soccer skills and teamwork in a stress-free fun environment. Teams are typically organized by gender and age into three age groups for the Spring.

The Deep Run Recreation Program participates in the Southeastern PA Recreation League. The SEPA Rec League is a joint league with other local clubs in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Travel for half the games is required. Depending on the home team’s facility and field availability, games may be played on Friday evenings, Saturdays, or Sundays. Some travel is up to 60 minutes away, but most games are within 30-40 minutes of Deep Run.

Game Time and Schedule

During the Spring games are scheduled on Friday nights, Saturday or Sunday depending on the facility your team is playing on that week. The schedule is finalized by the Sepa Rec program and distributed to coaches as soon as possible.

PRACTICES

Practices typically occur during weeknights. We encourage the coach of each team to find a time that is (most) mutually beneficial to their team. Most recreation teams practice once or twice a week. Coaches will decide on how often, timing and night of the week practices are held. Since they have volunteered their time, coaches get 51% of the vote but usually will ask the team for input.

TIMELINE OF UPDATES

-Registration is guaranteed through February 18th, 2024.

-Teams will be built during the week of March 16th and uniforms are ordered to meet registration     numbers.

-Late registration does not guarantee your child a spot on a team. Please register early.

-The team rosters are built and expected to be distributed shortly after registration closes.

-The final schedule will also be distributed and posted on each age group page.  Uniforms will be     distributed prior to the first game.

COACHING AND VOLUNTEERING

Please consider coaching and/or volunteering. Without volunteers to coach, we won’t have a season. It is fun, rewarding, and doesn’t take a whole lot more time than you already spend as a spectator. Coaches will need to get the appropriate background checks completed and take concussion training. The process is easy and has no cost to you. Additional volunteers for support tasks are also needed and are key to the success of the season. Other volunteer opportunities include field set up and breakdown, gear bag and jersey hand out, weekly field lining throughout the season, and snack stand.  For more information or questions contact Kevin Fischer @ IMSOCCER@DRVSA.ORG.
