General Information

The City of Dupont Recreational Basketball League is a city run program that allows boys and girls Kindergarten through 9th grade to progressively learn, develop, and play basketball in a fun & safe environment that promotes good sportsmanship among players, coaches, officials, and spectators.

This is not a select or tryout league. Teams 3rd Grade & up are formed using a draft after each player is evaluated for their skill, size, and basketball experience.

The basketball program is provided and managed by the City of Dupont Parks & Recreation department.

7 competitive divisions:

1st-2nd grade (co-ed)

3rd -4th grade (girls)

3rd -4th grade (boys)

5th -6th grade (boys)

5th - 6th grade (girls)

7th-9th grade (girls)

7th -9th grade (boys)

Modified Rules

Games

8 games played and will start after the Winter Holiday break until end of February/early March. Read FAQ for more details on game days, locations, and time. 

Little Hoopsters will have opportunity to play a couple scrimmages on a Saturday morning, if the coach decides it will aid player development

Practices

Little Hoopsters, 1st-2nd Grade Divisions will practice once (1) per week, with an optional second practice if the coach desires.

 3rd Grade and higher divisions will practice twice (2) per week

Practice locations are at any school in the Steilacoom Historical School District
