S25 Elk River High School Girls Flag Football-Grades 9-12 - Spring 2025

ELK RIVER GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL FLAG FOOTBALL 

Recently, the Minnesota Vikings began working throughout the state to bring girls high school flag football to Minnesota. Four teams just completed the inaugural season of high school girls flag with over a dozen programs set to play in spring of 2025. We’re so excited to announce that Elk River will be one of those programs! 

Practice will begin in early April & the exact schedule will be TBD but many of the girls from other schools that participated last year were multi sport athletes that had numerous commitments.  Some teams practiced twice a week at non traditional times to allow everyone to participate.  We'll discuss & work with our players on what will work best.

Specific game schedules are TBD but we know that each team will play a doubleheader per week for 5 weeks starting the week of April 27 culminating with the Championship @ the Vikings TCO Facility on Wed June 11

Are you ready for some football?

Join the fastest growing youth sport in the country.  This 7-practice/6-game season is held on Sunday's. This is a 5 versus 5, non-contact, recreational league for all boys and girls in Pre-K through 8th Grade.

This is an exceptional program for first time players who want to learn the fundamentals of football. This is also a wonderful opportunity for players who want to continue enhancing their skills before taking the next leap into tackle football. Games will take place between 10:00am - 7:00pm on Sundays (subject to change). Exact schedules will be created and posted 1-2 weeks prior to the season start date. Younger divisions typically play earlier in the day while the older divisions typically play later. Practices take place 30 minutes prior to game time each week to ensure a convenient and fun experience for all! Participants will receive an NFL reversible jersey and flag belt which is theirs to keep!

 There are no try-outs! Everyone participates! Our program relies on volunteer parents to coach our teams! We encourage all parents interested in volunteering to do so during the registration process. We will provide several resources along with a comprehensive coaches meeting to ensure all coaches have a fun and successful season! 

We try to place children on teams according to grade and school to hopefully have classmates playing together.

Elk River NFL Flag Football - Girls Only -  Grades 5-8 

Join the fastest growing girls youth sport in the country.  This 7-practice/6-game season is held on Sunday's. This is a 5 versus 5, non-contact, girls only league for Grade 5 - 8.

This is program for girls to participate in the game they love to watch and also for first time players who want to learn the fundamentals of football. Games take place between 10:00am - 7:00pm on Sundays. Exact schedules will be created and posted 1-2 weeks prior to the season start date.  Practices take place 30 minutes prior to game time each week. Participants will receive an NFL reversible jersey and flag belt, theirs to keep!
