Upcycle Clothing Lab - Summer 2026

Program Information: Give your wardrobe a remix with GTCC’s Upcycle Clothing Lab! For $4, participants bring in their own pre-washed clothing items and transform them into unique, personalized pieces. Choose from bleach dyeing, tie-dye, fabric painting, and cutting or cropping to freshen up your clothing items such as an old pair of jeans, a sweatshirt, or a new t-shirt. Whether you want to refresh a worn-out favorite or design something totally new, this hands-on lab is all about creativity, sustainability, and self-expression.

• Limit to 3 items at a time, but may return to the line as many times as you need. 

Be prepared for the Lab! Clothes may stain during the experiment - plan to wear older clothes.

Age: All ages are welcome to participate! Participants 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Date: Tuesday, June 23rd

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Location: GTCC Gym Court 1

Community Paint a Tile - Summer 2026

Join us in creating a one-of-a-kind community mural - one tile at a time. Our "Community Paint a Tile" program invites community members of all ages and skill levels to contribute to a collaborative art installation that celecreates creativity, connection, and local pride. 

How it works: Participants can purchase a small tile and transform it into their own unique work of art. Each completed tile will become part of a larger mural displayed at the community center, creating a visual representation of our community. Everyone can participate! This program is open to individuals, families, students, and local groups. Whether you're an experienced artist or trying something new, your contribution matters. 

Tiles can be purchased at the GTCC front desk for $10. You can take the tile home and have full creative control of your piece, or you can attend one of our "Create a Tile" dates and come paint one on site. 

Create a Tile Dates:

• Mondays 3-5pm: June 15th, July 6th, July 20th
• Thursdays 9-11am: June 18th, July 9th, July 23rd

Important Dates:

• Tile Pick Up Begins: June 15th
• Tile Return Deadline: August 14th

Cost: $10 per Tile

Preschool 2026-27 - Tuesday/Thursday Class, Age 4-5 - Fall 2026

We are very excited to offer our preschool program for the upcoming school year! The primary purpose of our program is to provide each child with an opportunity to be exposed to a variety of basic preschool skills including coloring, use of scissors & glue, listening & following directions along with social interactions with other children. Show ‘n tell, story time and snack are also important parts of our daily activities. Children will also be introduced to a variety of literature to enhance reading & readiness skills.

Classes are taught by Cynthia Schaefer and held at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 6404 Old Costa Lane in Weston from 9-11:30am on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  See FAQ's and offerings for specific dates.  Children must be 4 years of age to attend Tuesday/Thursday preschool classes. Children must be potty trained and out of diapers.

Online registration will open on Wednesday, July 1st.  Registration will remain open until the posted closing date or until a session reaches capacity.

Additional Information:

If we do not have sufficient enrollment to hold one or both classes, we will contact each family currently registered. Often times we can combine classes or make other arrangements rather than cancelling. Please register for the class you would like your child to attend and we will reach out if any changes need to be made.

 If D.C. Everest Schools are cancelled due to weather or if the church needs the use of the hall, preschool will not meet. Classes are not made up, nor are refunds given.
