Youth NFL Flag Football

The City of Maricopa Recreation offers a coed recreational flag football designed for beginner to intermediate-level players. The program is offered to participants 5-17 years of age with an 8-week season, games will be played on Friday evenings. This program promotes a safe, fair, and fun environment. Team Sports encourage good sportsmanship, and teamwork while creating new friendships and having fun!

Where:

🏈 Games and practices are all played at Copper Sky Regional Park (44345 W. Martin Luther King Blvd., Maricopa, AZ 85139). 

🏈 Field Maps are located within players' Team Sites as well as in the 'Resources' menu on the home page: Resources > Field Maps > (upper right-hand corner of website).

How:

🏈 Register ONLINE at ActiveNet or in person (during open hours) at Copper Sky Multigenerational Center.

Rules:

🏈  Youth NFL Flag Football Rulebook 

🏈 All players MUST wear mouthguards at all times while on the field. 

🏈 We recommend players wear shorts or pants that do not have pockets. Shorts or pants with belt loops or pockets must be taped. Games will not be delayed for a player to tape up pockets. 

🏈 Metal cleats are not allowed.  

🏈 Players must remove all jewelry and hard-billed hats. Winter beanies are allowed.

🏈 Adverse Weather Guidelines

The Maricopa Recreation Department will consider canceling or modifying activities if any of the following conditions are met: 

  • Severe weather warnings (e.g., thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rain, extreme temperatures) are issued by relevant authorities. Lightning closer than 10 miles away will cause immediate closure. 
  • Conditions pose a significant risk to the health and safety of participants, coaches, or spectators. Play could cause damage to the fields. 
Cancellations or modifications due to adverse weather conditions will be communicated promptly to coaches and parents via announcements and email through Team Sideline. 
In the absence of a designated authority, coaches are given the authority to cancel practice due to severe weather but must notify City staff and parents. Coaches should not cancel games unless directed by staff. 
Cancelled games and practices due to weather will not be guaranteed to be rescheduled.
