Thompson Rivers Parks & Recreation evaluates field conditions daily and will announce closures due to inclement weather by 3:00 PM. Updates will be promptly posted on RainoutLine.com. When fields remain open, individual coaches are responsible for deciding whether to hold practices. Coaches are strongly encouraged to prioritize the safety and well-being of their players when making these decisions. In the event of sudden weather-related safety concerns during a practice or game, a TRPR Site Supervisor has the authority to pause, cancel, or postpone practices or games to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Rainout Line is the notification system that we use for TRPR. It is easy to use and allows you to receive event, program and facility closures, cancellations and notifications instantly through whichever method you choose.
Our staff takes many things into consideration when making the determination on whether or not to close fields and facilities, or cancel events, including weather radar, current weather conditions, and field conditions. We work hard to be as timely as possible, while also being careful not to cancel too quickly.
