ASCENSION ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

Effective Fall of 2024, to be eligible to play, Ascension (Sport) players must meet one of the following requirements: 

  1.  Be Catholic and a registered member of Ascension Parish 
  2.  Attend Ascension Catholic School 
  3.  Live within the Ascension Parish Boundaries (click here to enter your address
  4.  Attend a public elementary school whose public school boundary falls within Ascension Parish boundaries
    (Chesterfield Elementary, Claymont, Green Trails, Highcroft Ridge, Henry, Kehrs Mill, Shenandoah or Wild Horse)

CYC Basketball, 3rd-8th

After regular registration closes on September 30th, placement is no longer guaranteed and is dependent on the number of available spots within the program. Late Registration, with an additional fee, will be open until October 14th.


Training League 1st-2nd

Registration closes October 15th

Please join us this year as we will be piloting a new winter program for our 1st and 2nd grade training league with Next Level Basketball. This will allow our training league participants access to play in a top tier basketball facility as well as have access to a seasoned coaching staff. The training league will take place at the Principia High School Simon Field House.


Kindergarten Clinics

Please join us this year as we will again be offering Saturday morning Kindergarten Clinics at Ascension. All kindergartners will be introduced to the fundamentals of basketball in a fun setting as they move from station to station over the course of an hour.


Chess

The goal of the Ascension Youth Chess Program is to share the passion for the game of chess, in a positive environment which promotes Christian values. Chess is a very effective mind training activity, and a great educational and motivational tool. Studies show that chess improves academic performance, strategic thinking, consideration of alternatives, and social skills.

Annual CYC Membership

A yearly CYC Membership fee is required to register for all CYC programs.  You will be asked to upload a photo during registration.  The cost is $5 and will be added to your cart during registration, if you have not already paid the annual fee for this school year.


Work Duty Requirement

All families are required to volunteer for a 4-hour volunteer shift during the fall through spring sports seasons (school year) May 1st - April 30th. ONE WORK DUTY PER FAMILY is required, regardless of the number of children or the number of sports played. Families have the option when registering to pay a buyout fee of $200 that will cover all kids AND all sports for that sports/school year.  For work duty questions, please contact Ascensionworkduty@gmail.com

Refund Policy

We understand that you may have to withdraw from a program for a number of reasons, but players withdrawing from a team can impact the team for a season. In addition, the Athletic Association incurs administrative costs with each registration. The following fees will be assessed with any refund request: Refund Policy Refund requests during the registration period will be granted, less a $10 administrative fee. Refund requests during the late registration period will be granted, less 50% of the original registration fee. No refunds will be granted after registration has closed as Ascension incurs non-refundable fees from CYC. Special circumstances will need to be approved by Sport and Athletic Director Withdrawal Requests Withdrawal requests must be submitted to the Sport Director via email. If you have a valid medical reason or relocation related to your request to withdraw, please provide that information when you make your request.
