Are uniforms included in program costs?:
Yes, we lend a jersey for CYC sports (1st-8th) (with a $50 deposit check, & a $50 deposit for worknight (see below) unless you did the family buy out). Little Stallions get a jersey for free to keep. We shred the checks at the end of the season if your uniform is returned and worknight requirement was done.
What's "worknight"?:
We run on a volunteer army here. We want every family to have some feeling of ownership. Here are your 6 options to fulfill it, 2-6 will take care of all of your kids for that season:
- Help for 30-45 mins on the fields. Most Wed nights 6:00-6:45pm you can come to the outside concession stand & get jobs for that week (painting lines, emptying trash cans or refilling concession stand). Its a great way to meet other parents on your kids team.
- Parents can do an once a school year buy out ($100 per family)
- We will also have a once a season Saturday morning opening the fields (moving benches, general clean up, painting field lines).
- A night handing out uniforms (2 hour requirement)
- Be a rostered & active coach for that season
- Be on the Athletic Board
Can my child play club and CYC sports?:
Yes! Your child can play both with no restrictions. Playing CYC sports is a fantastic way for your child to play with their friends.
I'd like to help coach, what do I need to do?:
Thank you! We greatly appreciate your help! Please click the Volunteer button to register as a Head or Assistant Coach. You will also need to complete some requirements (button below). It a easy process and will make lasting memories with your kids.
Coaching Requirements
Give & Take:
Give-and-Take is a program that takes in and gives out used but good-condition sports equipment including cleats, baseball and softball bats & gloves Here's how it works: If your child needs some equipment for the coming season, visit the Give-and-Take shelf in the concession stand. If you find something you can use, it's yours to take. And if you have equipment that your child has outgrown, bring it in and donate it to Give-and-Take for someone else to use.
My family is not Catholic is that an issue?:
Not at all. We are happy to have the community playing together, about 1/2 of our program are non Catholics. Before every CYC game there will be a small prayer (led by a coach or player).
What Parish am I in?:
There are a few answers to that simple question. Parish of Residence is your home address, which you can look up on Find My Parish | Archdiocese of St Louis (archstl.org) . The Parish of Registration is where you are registered to attend mass.
Why are there so many questions about where we live, go to school or church at sign up?:
CYC is trying to make sure our teams are fairly put together, kids from the same area vs an all star team from around the city. If a team is put together without looking at those rules, they may not be eligible for playoffs.
