The CARA program was created and designed to be a program for the non-ranked, non-sanctioned participant and focuses on the recreational aspect of swimming teams. Competition does have its place in the program however it must be emphasized that the competitive nature is of secondary importance. The primary objective is the development of skills and sportsmanship, while encouraging all participants to do their best and assuring each swimmer experiences some degree of success.
