2025 St Ann CYC Chess - Winter 2025

We are a Catholic recreational chess program providing children a place to have fun while developing skills and teamwork.

Chess Information:

Enrollment will be open for Kindergarten thru 8th grade for boys and girls. Athletes will learn & practice their skill to prepare for CYC tournaments and standings.

Age Groups

The CYC Chess program is based by school grade level

  • Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
  • 3rd - 4th Grade
  • 5th - 6th Grade
  • 7th - 8th Grade

To register for CYC Chess at St. Ann, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Be Catholic and a registered member of the Parish
  2. Attend St. Ann Catholic School
  3. Live within the Parish Boundaries (click here to enter your address)
  4. Attend a public elementary school whose public school boundary falls within the Parish boundaries

Chess Meets are: 12/14, 1/11, 1/25, 2/8 and Championship meet is 2/22

  • When will practices start: The coach of your child's team will contact you.
  • How long does the typical season run: December-February

  • How much does registration cost: $15
  • Is working the concession mandatory: Yes. Working at the concession stand helps bring in revenue that allows us to keep our sports registrations low.
  • How will concession shifts be assigned: In separate communications shift(s) will initially be available for families to pick. However after the signup deadline has past anyone who hasn't signed up for their shift(s) will be assigned.
  • Can my child work the concession stand: No. But any Adult 18 & older can work your scheduled shift.
