Our Philosophy

JPCS follows recommendations from the US Soccer Federation regarding teaching soccer to young children. Our league philosophy is "1,000 touches." Children at this age are not learning specific skills, positions or strategies. All we want them to do is to touch the ball with their feet as many times as they can in a practice session.

JPCS is a particularly laid back, grass roots and kid-focused league. We emphasize fun activities and positive reinforcement along with team and community building.  As long as the children are having fun, we are being successful.

Our coaches are all volunteers and have a wide variety of soccer experience and personal styles. The best way to have the practice go the way you'd like is to be an involved parent and maybe even volunteer as a co-coach.
