Level 3 Sunday Games

Sunday games are optional but at Level 3, you get a lot of kids requesting to play an actual "game" or scrimmage. We provide pinnies (scrimmage vests) and suggest meeting on Sunday afternoons. In order not to put too much time requirements on our volunteer coaches, and in keeping with our grassroots, laid back, kid focused philosophy, our Sunday "games" for level 3 kids are ad hoc, come if you can, work it out together events. 3pm is a recommended time but you can decide what works best for everyone.

It looks like this: Decide amongst your team, during your practice day, if you have a quorum who would like to show up for the Sunday game.

It requires someone (doesn't have to be a coach) commits to bringing the equipment and running a game. Parents help out!

When you get there: get together with the other adults and decide who plays whom. If there aren't enough teams to play each other, then break your team up and play yourselves. If there's not enough kids on one team to play anybody else, then play pick up style incorporating players from other teams. If you still don't have enough players, kids vs (easy-going) adults is always popular!

Game Guidelines:

-Try to tone it down. We'd like all the kids to have fun and enjoy the sport, not just the “winners”
-Try not to keep score.
-Play small games, 3 on 3, or 4 on 4. This way all the kids get a chance at the ball. If you've got too many kids on your team then break up in to two games.
-Sub kids in every few minutes. This way you can have up to 7 or so kids per team effectively.
-Try to keep the ball in play….kick ins are not necessary.
-No goalies
-Have fun!
