JP Children's Soccer is an introductory soccer/active experience for children aged 3.5-6.5, in Jamaica Plain MA and surrounding Boston suburbs. We run Spring and Fall seasons. All are welcome, and activity leaders ("coach" parents) are always needed to help run the teams. Instead of scrimmage, children play games (think "red light-green light") using their own soccer ball, to get them comfortable around the ball ("1,000 touches") in a fun and social setting.

Registration for the Spring 2025 Season is now open.

Please get involved by coaching.  The League does not happen without all adults helping out.  It is easy and fun.  Plus, coaches get free registration with the use of a Coupon Code (COACHSPRING)

Optional Practice the Memorial Day Weekend

Last Practice Sunday, June 29th

Our season is 8 weeks (9 if the team wants to play over Memorial Day weekend), each week consists of a 45-60 minute "practice" for all the teams. Wednesday teams have 9 weeks or the activity leaders may choose to take a "bye" week of their choice.

- The only required item to play is a water bottle. Please do bring a labelled soccer ball (size 3) if you can. If you do not have a ball, coaches will have some to loan. You will receive the team t-shirt at the first practice, and we ask you to write your child's name on both the front and back.

- JPCS is NOT a drop-off league. All children must have a responsible adult with them the entire time.

- Shin guards are optional (and not necessary).

- Cleats are discouraged (kids tend to step on each other's and coaches' feet at this level), so have them wear good fitting shoes for the soft grass. Socks and other clothing are to your preference based on weather. The drainage from Pinebank Field is great but the ground obviously can be damp and sometimes the grass doesn't get mowed enough.

- All practices are at Pinebank field.

Activity Leaders (formally known as Coaches)

& Snack Coordinators (f.k.a Team Parents) Are Needed!

JP Children’s Soccer has a long history of supporting children in the community and this is all based on the volunteers. As an activity leader you will lead the practice, keeping kids interested as you play various games for the 45 minutes. Anyone who has ever played Simon Says or Red Light-Green Light with their kid can do this! It's really not "coaching", but the kids will forever know you as their first coach. See the coaching information page for more information. We are always in need of coaches, particularly for our Wednesday teams. You will have the opportunity to volunteer to be a coach during the registration process for your child this season. Please be sure to enroll yourself separately, but at the same time as registering your child, so that the $10 discount applies.

Snack Coordinators, who we used to call Team Parents, are in charge of distributing t-shirts on the first day, bringing snacks and drinks on the first day, and organizing a list of parents who will bring snacks and drinks to each practice. This person should also be able to send out a reminder to the parent bringing the next snack so it never gets forgotten. This is the entire extent of the job - it's so easy and is a great way to meet other parents!

Our Leadership Team is also comprised of volunteers and we are always looking for new additions to the leadership team to take on roles that allow us to deliver this popular program to the JP Community. If you are interested in joining our team please contact us at contact@jpchildrensoccer.org. Please also consider helping us spread the word about this grass-roots organization to families you know with young children.
