This elegant three-story house, located at 1501 E. Lakeshore, was built in 1917 by the Rutledge family and is nestled against a pine covered hillside to the north and the shores of beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene and Sanders Beach to the south. The 2 acres of grounds are beautifully landscaped with shrubs, a grape arbor, and shade trees of many varieties.
The Potlatch Corporation gave this beautiful residence to the City of Coeur d'Alene in 1978 for the enjoyment of
its senior citizens and is available for scheduled group activities Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This is a wonderful venue to hold special events such as weddings and receptions, anniversary parties, and church and business retreats.
If you have questions regarding an activity, wedding or other event please contact Adam Rouse-Program Coordinator- at 208-769-2314 or acrouse@cdaid.org. House tours are also available upon request.
