Specialized Needs Recreation (SNR) began as a small community initiative with a big vision: to ensure that individuals with developmental and physical disabilities have full access to meaningful recreational opportunities. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a trusted 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that continues to serve youth and adults throughout our region with year-round programs, summer camp, social events, sports, and community outings.

Through consistent interaction and supportive staff, participants learn:

  • How to communicate effectively
  • How to work cooperatively with peers
  • How to manage their behavior in group settings
  • How to navigate real-world social situations

These skills carry over into home life, school, employment settings, and the community.

We believe learning happens everywhere—not just in a classroom. That’s why many of our programs take place out in the community, where participants can practice independence in real-life environments.
