Why Play Flag Football?

Our Flag Football season is open in the fall and only for kindergarten through 3rd grade.  When your son or daughter gets involved in recreational flag football, they get the opportunity to learn important things that go beyond physical activity.

INCLUSIVITY -  Flag is a great sport for both boys and girls of all ages – even the younger ones.  It’s no contact, inclusive, and easy to learn.  There are no height or weight restrictions, making it a game everybody can play.

PROMOTES FITNESS - Flag encourages physical activity and healthy movement, ensuring your child spends quality time away from the screen.

INTRODUCES FOOTBALL - Flag provides a natural entry point into the world of football, creating opportunities for your child to learn, engage and grow with the sport.

THE VALUE OF PRACTICE - Along with teamwork, coaches will teach your child the importance of practice.  As coaches work on fundamentals to help your child learn the game, players  discover that practice is an important part to playing a sport, and that without practice, improvement in any skill can be difficult.

TEACHES TEAMWORK & SOCIAL SKILLS - Flag instills the critical value of teamwork and it's a great way for children to develop social skills.  By being a part of a team, children learn how to communicate, interact, and work well with others.

CONFIDENCE -  Flag equips your child with the skills to build and grow their confidence levels both on and off the field.

INSTILLS SPORTSMANSHIP -  Most importantly, playing flag football  teaches your child the value of being a good sport and behaving with integrity, respect and humility, regardless of winning or losing. Being positive and shaking hands with teammates, referees and opponents instills valuable lessons in your child.

Character building and social skills are certainly major benefits to flag football participation, but let’s not forget that it’s also fun and a great way to make new friends!
